"accidentally". That just about says everything we need to know about said software designers skillset.

According to the Athletic, which has a great article on the inside of this whole situation, the app had been used for inter-office chat until after they let this guy go. Later, they opened it up to all users. He logged back into it, thinking it was still just between 2 people.

Weird - moral of story seems to be don't say anything to anyone without expecting to see it on the front page of the paper or website the next morning.

I believe that almost as much as I believe that the Colorado Eagles really did try to give the Kelly Cup back to the ECHL.

"I didn't realize those messages were getting pushed out to everyone"

Is that why the AHL APP's welcome screen was changed to a screenshot of the conversation containing the "throat punch" threat for over an hour? This guy is an IT professional. He knew exactly what he was doing.

And I, for one, appreciate it.

Tried to...in exchange for a return of their termination payment. Depending on how you frame it, either side is telling the truth.

"Held the Kelly Cup hostage until the payment was made" doesn't really meet the definition of "tried". And if they were so certain they were owed the money this would have been handled in court.

To avoid threadjacking this topic, if you have more to add we can head over to the ECHL forum where there's a thread about the issue. I would suggest you read it before you reply as it's possible what you're thinking has already been discussed.
Colorado Eagles did not give the Kelly Cup back
