All 19 WC titles in history are split between just 8 countries. Two of those countries, Spain and England, won in their only WC Finals appearances (2010 and 1966 repectively). Uruguay has two titles but last made the Finals way back in 1950. For Argentina their 2nd win came in 1986 and they finished second in 1990. France has a title and two Finals appearances in the last 15 years, but 12 of the 19 Cups have been won by Brazil, Italy or Germany.

Here's the thing...Only 4 teams outside of those 8 have EVER made it to the Finals, and Netherlands is the only team outside those 8 Cup winning countries to appear in the Finals since 1962 (runners up in 1974, 1978 and 2010).

So if any team is a historical dark horse outsider threatening to crack the elite, it might be them.
