The Vancouver Canucks are happy to select young G Ryan Miller. The Canucks are relieved that this bluechip prospect is still available after three rounds in which lots of good goalies were taken. He's got great lateral mobility and timing. He is the Canucks future in goal and should be a great goaltender someday.

The Portland Pirates are happy to select G Tommy Salo. The Pirates are thrilled that he is still around, and although he had a weak season last year, they have a lot of confidence in his sound netminding abilities. Blessed with exceptional quickness and sharp in-close saving ability, Salo is reliable in the clutch, often coming up with timely saves. And that is vital in the playoffs.

ShadowL is now up, and I'll get an updated draft list up shortly. Be patient with me... :D

Boston selects Tuomo Ruutu

and Toronto selects Mario Lemieux.

Nice picks. I'd take Lemieux, but I am one of those hard-core types who considers salary and age. :)

groove-armada is up, lwvs84 after him (and has some skipped picks to make up anyways).

You took MacInnis, he's older and I believe makes a little more... :p

One team (boston) is super young, and the other team (toronto) is a team going for it all this year. Two totally different mindsets when I pick for my teams... :D

I also have two different mindsets for each team actually, though it isn't apparent at this time.

Portland is going all out and wants to win at all costs. They are keeping a bit of an eye on payroll and age, but they will always take the best player available.

Vancouver is stocking up on veterans right now, but the plan is to go with the kids. I think it's obvious that a team can't win with just a bunch of young kids, a few veterans are needed. That's why I've taken guys like Kariya and MacInnis. But later on in the draft, salary and age will be a big factor in who the 'Nucks take.

By the way, the Minnesota Muff-Divers are still available for a GM to grab up. I'm fine with being interim GM, but running three teams, being commish and keeping this thread updated is a bit much. So if you have only one team and want to take on another, go ahead. Anyone else who isn't involved in the draft and wants to join, feel free to!

:)

He hasn't been online in four days. Go ahead and make your pick. I'm sure there's some explanation for him failing to make his picks, but we'll worry about that later.

Alright, I'll do so :)

Well, the Battlecreek Wolverines are VERY surprised, and delighted that their next selection has fallen back so far. And we felt he was just too good to pass up on.

So with the next selection in Danrik's Fantasy Draft, the Battlecreek Wolverines select D Adam Foote

Foote is one of the top defensive defenseman in the leauge. He's ab;e to log over 25 minutes a game, and is extremly solid in his own end, while being able to chip in a bit offensivly aswell.

Battlecreek Wolverines Roster

RW Glen Murray - $3.85 Million
D Scott Niedermayer - $4 Million
C Brendan Morrison - $2.45 Million
G Sean Burke - $4.5 Million
D Adam Foote - $4.3 Million

Total Payroll $19.1 Million dollars

Lines (Subject to change)

Murray - Morrison - XXXXX

Foote - Niedermayer

Burke

I like the looks of my team so far :) I'm also looking for more 4th rounders. If any of my players or picks intrest you, PM me and we'll try and work something out.

The Stockholm Bruins are very proud to select, center, Mike Peca.

Peca is a very vauleble player who can to most things on the ice. He is a great leader, plays very physical och is great defensivly. He's no slotch in the offensive zone either.

Lineup so far
-- - Peca - Palffy

Lidström - --

Hasek

Is this draft dead or are there enough people still willing to stay on the keep it going? punkorama has dropped out and I'm not sure but Mack may also want to.

Give your input...

I don't check it constantly but I'll keep making picks as long as it keeps going. Just skip people if you have to so you can keep it moving along.
