This makes the Saints' already incredibly strong offense even better. Michael Thomas is a great WR, but he's more of a possession WR, making guys miss, and catching everything thrown in his zip code. Dez will be a great complement, I think. As long as his hands haven't turned to stone, Brees should help revive Dez's career.

Not really. Michael Thomas and Dez have similar skillets.

At $600K base salary, Dez knew it was the opportunity he had to take.

Football is a game of attrition, so they're still in contact with other people I'm sure.

And by not being the primary or even secondary concern most plays, he should face no double coverage and probably will see very little of the opposing team’s better corners. He won’t get a better chance to put up some numbers.

Damn. Terrible for him if it's a torn Achilles. He waited all this time for the right situation.

Wonder if we see him again, Achilles are a tough injury to come back from.

If it's torn, good chance he misses all of next year and ends up as a camp invite in 2020.

This has gone from ridiculous to absurd. Saints are going to be pulling people out of the stands to play WR at this point

Wonder if the lack of a training camp and usual vet warm up schedules played a factor in the injury. Don’t know what his workout schedule has been while waiting for a contract?

Sad to hear about his potential season ending injury. Comes aboard for a few hours and then bang injured :( Sorry.

He'll either be back next season, or not at all. Some people just never make it back from that injury. It's never the same after you tear it once.

Jesus, man. You gotta feel for Dez here. He bided his time waiting so long for another shot. Finally gets into a good position for a good spot on a competitor with a HOF quarterback. dang.
