Rocco Gimaldi was called up today, looks to take Kevin Fiala's spot on the second line, while Fiala may find himself in the press box. Zac Rinaldo seems to have been moved up to the 3rd line. He's been a pleasant surprise so far this season. Nothing stupid, solid forchecking, and not out of place in our own zone. The JOFA line has been lights out so far this season. Filip Forsberg and Viktor Arvidsson both with 6 goals. Ryan Johansen has 2 goals and 7 assists through the first 9 games.

Mattias Ekholm has been our best defenseman this season on both ends of the ice. He has 2 goals and 5 assists while being a +8. P.K. Subban, Roman Josi, and Ryan Ellis have been alright, but need to be more consistent this year. Dan Hamhuis was placed on the IR today so Anthony Bitetto will skate with Yannick Weber on the 3rd pairing.

Juuse Saros is in net with Pekka Rinne still on the IR. Saros was rocked last game, giving up 5 goals including 3 in the 3rd period to lose to the Sharks 5-4. With that said, Saros is still 4-1-0 with a 2.37 GAA.

The Predators biggest struggle right now is special teams, both ranking in the bottom of the NHL. The PP is clicking at a woeful 9.7% which is good for 30th in the NHL. The PK is only slightly better, ranking 20th at 73.1%.

Tough team to play tonight, that's not saying all games aren't tough but the Predators are extremely tough.

The Devils need to bring their A game for 60 minutes, 60 minutes is the key. Faceoffs and less penalties.
