Very good game again without Hall. That's three.

Good goaltending goes a long way I guess. That and somewhat easier teams

I'm assuming the "interference" was Williams being so far in the crease and not allowing Blackwood to move out any further. Blackwood just didn't do the savvy veteran move of bumping into Williams and making it obvious.

Exactly how I saw it, and the rules support that conclusion.

I think this is the best guess. He was pretty far into the crease. If Blackwood challenges him more to defend the paint then no one is saying the refs got it wrong.

Thread lacks negativity: The hell was Hynes thinking putting Palms out there for the 4 on 4 when it was obvious the Canes would pull their goalie for a 5 on 4?

Is this where i tell you that you are a closet NYR fan and maybe you should hang out in their subforum and that Hynes has had the good sense to overplay Lovejoy for the sole purpose of leading up to this moment? Or is this where I tell you that it feels really good to see some good play over a decent stretch of games and some levity is always fun after a nice win?

I've watched the replay like 4 times and I have no idea how that stood up to review. There's nothing there.

I mean, I'll take it, but that coupled with Bratt getting a phantom star over McElhinney is just bush league.

Blackwood was phenomenal, though.

There was contact with Blackwood's hockey stick in the overhead replay.

Maybe that's why they upheld the initial call?

Think how long they have had to endure goalie as their Achilles heel. No matter how well things went the goaltending always let them down. They finally have someone that looks like he might be a legit goalie. Would NJ fans be any better if Smith comes in next year and revamps the way the defense looks?

NHL Central Scouting had him as the top North American goalie, I believe he was a consensus 1 or 2 among goalies overall.

Samsonov was rated higher I believe. He was the only goalie drafted in the first round that year.
