Let's get this clear right now.

@TGfireandice: Unless the rules are changed, it's unlikely. RT @NickNoVolvo54: @TGfireandice any thoughts on these Kovalchuk return resurfacing articles?

Absolutely nothing has changed with the NHL rules of either one year sitting out or all 30 teams voting for approval. Any there is zero indication of either happening.

Kovy is not a Devil and will not be a Devil next year so any talk about him does not belong in this thread.

Only warning.

It takes no effort for the league to change the rules.

There is no reason to believe they would currently. If there is a legit and significant change then the topic can be discussed in regards to the current and future team.

For now he is just another former devil under contract with another team that has nothing to do with current team discussion.

I'm sorry but how in God's name does Steve Bernier have more points than Travis Zajac in less games? This is horrific...

It wouldn't surprise me if Lou has Travis watching 34152345234 tapes of John Madden and Jay Pandolfo

Just beat Carolina, TB, and Florida please. That's all I want. Wanna see some wins and be undefeated this year!

Though I would like Florida to win if they actually have a chance at the playoffs by that time.

Let the hamburgerler have it. Rather beat Florida and help out that 2nd we got for Jagr.

Gomez and Bernier have some really good chemistry. I know Gomez is one hell of a passer, but I haven't seen Bernier make plays or one-time pucks like he has with Gomez.

It's like the scoring forward potential is finally starting to shine.

I'm really enjoying watching the current Panthers team and hope they get in.

Doesn't look good though.

Still want Boston to make it in if not them. I think they can do some damage in the playoffs (just avoid Montreal at all costs). The question is if they can get in? I'm not sure. They seem to have grenaded for good.

Actually they grenaded a while back. Then they got it running again, now the wheels seem to have fallen off.

I want whatever helps our team the most and that is the Panthers falling down the standings.

Elias has been a gigantic turd this whole year

Believe it or not, even with the time he's missed, he's 4th on the team in even-strength points, only 4 behind Henrique who leads with 22. And that's been with lower TOI, being 38 years old, and his most common linemates being Havlat, Zajac, and Zubrus.

Travis Zajac is a sorry excuse of a hockey player. Never liked liked him. To see him get $6 million per year is one of the biggest jokes in the entire league. I don't care if he's good defensively.

Considering my avy, seeing Patty play like this is very upsetting. :(

I mean....it's like when he realized that the Devils won't be making the playoffs this year, he just stopped caring.

Maybe he should consider retiring soon. Once the game becomes more like a Job(and is no longer fun), it may be time to hang 'em up. :dunno:

We should 100% sign Frolik to a 4yr/$14MM deal.

He's a versatile forward who can put up 45 points, play the PK and slot in on any line. He's also fast and only 27.

That would be one of grandpa's better FA signings.

45 points on the average team. Not on the Devils. Still a possibility we only have 1 45.point player this year.

Also when looking at all these player, you got to think of how they will play on the Devils and their current system. Not every player will thrive here.

BabyJags would be good for this team. I would support that signing.

Just hope it would lead to the end of Zubrus and Ruutu.
