The IQ Bread showed on that 2 on 1 goal, along with Strome’s being right there on the same wavelength as him, was unreal. Usually guys open themselves up for the shot in that position, but the way he stopped to create space, and the fact that Strome knew that was what he was doing and fed him perfectly, was special to watch. I honestly don’t know how you break these guys up.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Kreider seems to be playing himself off the team. If he wasn’t such a good guy and known hard worker off the ice, I’d be genuinely nervous that he might just check out now that he’s paid. Something has to give there.

Sometimes I wonder if Rangers fans are actually Rangers fans. It's like they're looking for an excuse to shit on the team.

a) We only had one game with comical goal differential. The other two games we won by 5 and 4 goals. Not something out of the ordinary.

b) Believe it or not it takes talent to beat an NHL team 9-0, much less one that has a winning record.

c) I don't see anyone taking out the three games we lost by 4 goals.

d) No we don't have games where we lost by more than 4 goals that comically skews our goal differential. Some would view that as a positive that we can blow teams out but we rarely ever get blown out and never comically. Maybe that's a credit to the team?

e) Will we take out Washington's 6-0 win against Buffalo? Or the Islanders 7-2 win against the Bruins?
Exactly!

I just wish you were this fair and reasonable to the goddamn goalies.

The nyr have had so many great performances but they've been CRAZY jekyll and Hyde. LikeREALLY crazy jekyll and Hyde.

Hopefully the consistency starts improving. These great performances have to be improving morale and bringing the guys together. Improve resiliency and comraderie. Pull more victories from the jaws of defeat.

Kreider IS struggling right now. I think he needs to sit at least one game and watch to step back a bit to get back on track.

I give you credit for taking that stance with your username. :)

I don’t disagree, but it’s a bit more than that I’m afraid. He just straight up needs to make way on that top line for the several young kids who are just simply more skilled than he is.

Kreider still offers value to this team with his speed, net front presence, and physicality if he chooses to use it. He has the ability to be the “diverse” winger we know we need (we can’t be all skill). But it’s going to take a concerted effort on his part to play that way, and it’s going to be tough to pay that player what he’s making.

I remember comparing Kreider to Jason Chimera several years ago. We all hoped he would be more than that and he has been for awhile, but it’s looking like that might be his role on this team moving forward. Tough to make that work at his salary.

Laf, Kakko, Chytil, and Goat are gonna take Kravy in an Enterprise-rented Honda Accord and find Lindy Ruff's address, go there and Kravy's gonna take a bag of doggy poo and light it afire on his front lawn, wait for Ruff to storm out in his bathrobe and fuzzy slippers cursing and waving a newspaper, then speed off giggling the whole time.

I am very patient with the kids. But the thing that irks me and puzzles me is how putrid they are in odd man rush situations. It's like if you have a 5 star point guard, you know they will have a big learning curve but you still expect them to be able to run a fast break.

People love joaning on Howden but for the season he's 3rd amongst forwards in SH TOI/G behind 93 and 89. Our PK is awesome. If the only consideration was 5 on 5 play maybe Howden would be out of the lineup. But you have to build your lineup for a hockey game.

Not good enough. We can throw strome, blackwell, or kreider out there as well. Kreider needs to be getting groomed as a pk specialist because he will be forced onto that third line by next season and he can get more minutes on the pk.

The Rangers are out here flaunting their goal differential that would be significantly different if you removed the three 8+ goal games lol
In 2 of those games they were +5 and +4, which is not unreasonable as there are many games where a team wins by 4 or 5. Why would you exclude those games? They just won by 4 tonight, should we also exclude tonight from their goal differential?

Watching the highlights again...I think if Hughes backchecks Panarin instead of going across the ice to Strome he easily catches up to him or at least greatly disrupts any play that may be forced to Panarin.

Avs fan coming in peace.

The Rangers have always been one of my favourite Eastern Conference teams. Their uniforms are great (not the ones they wore tonight, the normal ones) and the goal horn is pretty sweet.

Boy, what a young talented team you guys have. I think the Rangers are going to be an elite team for a long time with the talent on the roster and in the system.

I’ve been watching some of the games recently and man, when this team is on they’re pretty damn good.

Hope to see you guys push into the playoffs and make some noise.
I can vouch for this guy, he always pumps our tires on the Mains.

"High performers don't like mediocre people, and mediocre people don't like high performers.

What happens is, some of the people that aren't here anymore, not naming any names, are not here because they didn't fit in with what the Rangers were building, culture wise... and now with the few people not here and the locker room sorting itself out, the leaders emerge.

They get to get up and have a bigger voice, they're more comfortable speaking because no one is going to undermine their message...."

I feel like Lindy Ruff is the older guy who dresses way too young. Like, baseball cap worn backwards. Big baggy sweater. Oversized basketball shorts.
