To be honest I'm feeling pretty neutral about this. It's fun to win games, but if you're not making the playoffs, this is not a year to be drafting outside top8.

There's plenty to be happy and excited about the team and I trust the management will make the right moves on deadline. If the value is right I'm fine with moving all of Simmonds, Zacha, Wood, Hayden, Rooney, McLeod, Butcher, Vatanen, Severson, Carrick, Mueller..
You sound like you are trying to convince yourself of something you don't believe

Nas shouldn't be judged solely on the last 2 games, much like he shouldn't be judged on the previous 10.

We have 30 something games left, it will be on the whole kit and kaboodle. The team will have to be pretty impressive down the stretch for him to come back.

That was kind of my point.

One thing to do would be try to fix the power play. We are so deliberate and predictable. So slow, carefully looking around to move the puck. It’s like watching paint dry. Please guys just pick up the tempo. And no more or very few of those drop passes on the entry. When the puck carrier hits the line, everyone else is standing still.

And Butcher is a liability on unit 2 because he’s too slow to chase down and retrieve loose pucks and also to make keeps at the point.

And we can’t afford to play teams like the Caps and the Leafs from 2 or 3 goals down. Good we fought back, but honestly, it felt like any time they wanted to turn up the pressure they could have pinned us in at Will. The moment we got close, they just put their foot on the gas again.

I don’t think it gets fixed until a new staff comes in next year.

IMO, Devils will probably have to win 22 out the remaining 30 for Nas to have any shot of him coming back.

We do a lot of things badly but our powerplay entries might be the most painful of the lot.

And if Butcher's not an asset with the man advantage why's he in the freakin league? I get the argument for maintaining a one-trick pony but it helps if they've actually got a trick to speak of.

That said he'll have a job until someone takes it away from him. I home Ty Smith returns with a point to prove next camp.

Missed the game... So Domingue got hurt and Cory is back to being our #1 option?
Not sure what happened to Domingue. He looked shaky and uncomfortable all 1st period, so maybe something was bothering him then or maybe he just looked like that because he's Louis Domingue.

Cory came in and looked pretty good for about 25 minutes, despite allowing a goal on the first shot he faced, which he had no chance on.

Then he allowed the typical miserable softy that dribbled through his legs a few minutes into the 3rd period, which was right after we cut it to 3-2.

Games like this want me to throw up. This is 2019-20 Devils condensed into 60 minutes. So many mistakes, so many errors, such a mess... and all of that not even a week after that great game at the same place. The Hayden penalty, Carrick, Butcher... the list goes on and on. The way Nas handles goaltending is totally atrocious. You ride and overwork one guy until he finally goes down with an injury, is that the plan? Well that certainly works well. Just blow up the whole thing and start from scratch, including coaching.

Did Pastrnak get a hattrick against us this season? Devils got Matthews and Oveckhin back in race for Rocket. :D

What's the record for most hat tricks allowed in a season? We gotta be on track for that at this point

And only 1 SOG for Zacha.

If he were a Met prospect, he'd be the next Alex Ochoa. fIVe ToOlS

he is a third fourth line player.. Im disappointed with him I always thought once he got more opportunity he would flourish he just doesn't have the ability to bring his best stuff more often than not... no issues with him on team or being moved in a package he is essentially a non factor to me one way or other

you can't blame Nass for riding Blackwood.. he had no choice. .... butcher is terrible... mueller should be in his place... it doesn't matter.but nights like this make you realize why shero was shit canned... he has built very little here..

you are probably right and this team can't actually win 7 or 8 in. a row to get back on track so there is no point....

Yeah that sounds about right and hits with my 85-points target a few weeks earlier. Although I'm not even sure that's good enough with a new GM at this point, unless the new GM is Fitz. I'm not even sure how much it'll matter if they keep puttering around at .500 then go on a cosmetic 11 of 13 type stretch drive with the pressure off to finish the season.
