I use 3d and 4th interchangeably. What I mean is, he’s an NHL player from now. Watch and see. Revisit next season. The kid has the skills and has been one guy making the most of his opportunity.

And 4th lines are important if the coach rolls them.

Boston’s 4th line has been driving play all season for example. Very physical aggressive forecheck, 2 men in deep very fast on top of the opposition.
If Kevin Rooney is on our fourth line next year then we're in for another long season because that speaks volumes as to the quality of the roster we would be icing. Guy's an AHL lifer. Nothing wrong with that, but he isn't a Coleman, not even a little bit. Nothing about his play stands out for me.

vats went down like he was shot. he was motionless on the ice for 3-5 seconds, which should’ve been a dead giveaway that he embellished...he wasn’t knocked out cold or anything. the cross check should’ve been called, but that didn’t warrant anything further in terms of a suspension, and i don’t think he was trying to injure him. vats made that seems a million times worse than it really was

There are seconds left in a game that's basically over and he crosschecks an unsuspecting guy in the lower back who isn't in any way involved in the play. It's a cheap, dirty play and he doesn't deserve any benefit of the doubt.

I don't think Marchard should be suspended. I'm saying I wouldn't mind if someone else took one for the team and performed a suspendable act on Marchand.

To be fair almost all of us thought the same of Coleman after 2016-17. Rooney's actually shown slightly more now, than Coleman did back then at the NHL level and they both had a similar # of games in their first extended look.

The difference is that Coleman had a history of success at the AHL and NCAA levels whereas Rooney really has neither. He can skate, and he can be a callup for a few games, but he's not an NHL-quality player.

Rooney never goal scored in college like Coleman did though. So I think Coleman had shown more natural ability in his past.

Who the hell else was he supposed to play with? This was Binghamton's A team playing the Boston friggin Bruins last night. Your shtick is intolerable man.

Bill, don't even bother.

He won't reply to you when you call him out on things.

He just posts his garbage and only responds to certain people here.

I bet he has most of us on Ignore or something so he can't see what we're saying anyway.

Rooney played a good game last night. Very well positioned defensively, riding off good Bruins players deep beside our goal, taking Johansson out once in the 3d period, Debrusk another time. Also liked him as the first man in on our forecheck - maybe our only guy who really got on top of their defensemen fast enough to get a forecheck going.

So I see a strong, fast, physical guy who knows how to play the game. Greatly skilled? No. But has also showed better hands and a better release on a wrist shot lately than earlier in the season.

Amongst the (I will admit) relatively lackluster group on the ice the last few games I actually think he’s been one of our better players. I am surprised by this because I had thought of him as useless. But he’s showing me something instead.

Really willing to dial it back to nothing more than that. Maybe everyone is right. But the last couple of three games he’s looked like one of our better forwards to me.

I just don't know why people, other than the mods, realize he's still here. I've had him on ignore pretty much since he's come on here
