I’ve noticed the conspicuous absence of that from Steve this year. Maybe he’ll let us know when we’re finally eliminated, but either he forgot about it after not having to do it last year or somebody in higher ups told him to can it because it’s almost insulting how far out of it we are.

I’m sure we can’t be far from reaching the elimination of tragic number point.

Now that I look it up and check the standings, 11-0-0 gets us 83 points. Carolina has 83 points currently and they’re the first wild card team. Montreal and Carolina are both tied for the last wild card spot (Columbus is in it now via tiebreaker). Montreal is in action against the Islanders tonight. So a Montreal win of any kind tonight officially eliminates us.

Actually, maybe it doesn’t but a Columbus won tomorrow night of any kind would. Columbus already has 38 ROWS while the most we could get would be 36 if we went 11-0-0 but Montreal would only have 36 ROWS with an OT or regulation win tonight. We’d actually own the second tiebreaker on them if it’s still season series.

A loss of even one point on Friday or Columbus getting two points of any kind on Friday officially eliminates us.

I distinctly remember on a live broadcast, in which Steve literally mentioned the "Tragic Number" for us.

I’m glad he wasn’t doing our game last night.

I’m thankful we’re not shown on NBC hardly ever, because it would usually mean getting him, unless the game is all the way out in Edmonton and he’s doing the marquee earlier matchup in the evening. Or if we get the combination announce crew like when the Sharks/Kings/Ducks or will usually have Sharks PBP Randy Hahn and Kings color guy Jim Fox or Ducks color guy Brian Hayward and Randy Hahn. Or Kings PBP Alex Faust and Brian Hayward.

Since we rarely ever have those national games, we’d never get one of Steve and Dano. It would probably be Joe Michletti if it were a local game and Pierre wasn’t working it and John Forskund on PBP. I’m pretty sure when we played the Lightning last year on NBCSN it was Brian Engblom on color commentary, who’s with the Lightning on their local broadcasts the last few years. And I forgot who the PBP was. It was either Rick Peckham from the Lightning or John Forslund.

Anybody but Pierre is fine by me.

Why can't we ever get Doc for one of our games? :(

Saw that Larsson gave Zajac a helmet wash, after scoring the goal.... Lars wishes he was back....?

Can't blame the guy, ya we suck a little more than Edmonton but at least he wouldn't have to wear 3 fur coats every time he goes outside or hop on a long plane ride for almost every away game or need a dog sled team on standby all winter.

Nope. And like Greene, Larsson is smart enough positionally that he can get away with being a little slow.

I don’t watch Larsson much but last night he got abused by a mostly AHL set of forwards. Larsson looks like he is a borderline 2nd/3rd pair guy when I thought he’d be a very good 2nd pair guy.

How the **** did we win last night? It's hard to believe that's even possible.
Koskinen blows.

Another laughable Chiarelli special, 2 days before they showed him the door.

Stolarz is another mediocre goalie.

Just want to say how much I appreciate you kicking Edmonton’s ass. The fans should feel ashamed having to watch that trainwreck.

pietela is the new pelley ... pelley .... lappin is the new talackson.. and so on and so..
I wouldn't say Pietila is the new Pelley because Pietila hasn't played as many games as Pelley in the NHL and more than likely probably never will. If he does then I don't expect it to be here. I'd say this might be his last year in the organization if he's an FA after this year. He's probably not a whole lot worse than Rod Pelley though, if he's even worse at all.

I don't think Lappin is quite Tallackson, because Tallackson was a legit (And VERY OVERRATED) prospect by our fanbase, but there are some people who still like Lappin because he puts up a lot of shots on goal in the AHL.

The difference between Greene and Larsson as far as being slow and skating goes is that Greene is just a bad skater and slow because he's old and shot.

Larsson has other deficiencies in his skating that Greene never had.

Larsson is just a bad skater, always has been. A bad skater is not necessarily someone that's skating is compromised due to their speed, which is clearly the case with 36 year old Greene. David Clarkson was an example of a horrendous skater and it wasn't just because he was slow on skates, he just wasn't good on his skates and that's what I see with Larsson.

Although Larsson doesn't fall down every night or multiple times per night like Clarkson did.

Miles Wood is a guy who is really fast in speed, but isn't particularly good at staying on his skates, so for that I think I would say he wasn't that great of a skater, which might seem a bit deceiving or disingenuous when you see how fast he is.'

And then you got a guy like Travis Zajac. Not a fast skater, but very strong on his skates and feet. He never was a fast skater at all, but he hasn't slowed down much in speed, probably because of how f***in skinny and light the guy is. But he's very good on his feet and skates well, even though he doesn't move fast. Larsson doesn't move fast or skate well.

Can you imagine Clarkson with Miles' speed?

Oh the hilarity!
