It is a sad day around the arena in Newark. Michael Robert, new GM of the Devils, has announced the retirement of Kris Versteeg. Kris ended his career with 19 points in 60 games last season for the Devils. Robert has this to say about Versteeg, "He is a great leader with tons of experience. It is sad to see him retire at the age of 33, but I understand as he feels he just can't give what he used to." Asked if he would have made next season's lineup Robert answered, "No comment."

Versteeg, a Lethbridge AB native, leaves the game with 358 points in 643 games.

Just for the record there will be a post some point during off season for players who have fled to europe or retired. Where you post a quick link showing it. And they removed
