Marchand is such a p***y, I wish he played back in Stevens’ era and got the justice he deserves. So sick of guys like him running around without repercussion.

Devils’ Jack Hughes makes bold guarantee in chat with Post

Q: How realistic of a goal is it for you to reach your goal of being great?

A: The Devils drafted me where they drafted me expecting me to be that guy. They brought me in here to be the guy that can help change the culture and change the organization, and I expect that out of myself. I think this year has been a good step for me to get to that point so far.

Q: What’s it like being Jack Hughes?

A: It’s great. It’s a great life to play hockey for a living.

—————-

Good interview here. It’s a mix of the normal platitudes with some real stuff, I think.

Also, he apparently has trouble remembering to fill his gas tank.

Q: Coach Lindy Ruff?

A: Beauty.

Hey guys, glad your team is back at it. Seemed like they were off forever.

Question: could Severson be had? Not sure where he fits going forward with the Devils, if he's a staple or expendable. Given how good he is I'm guessing not expendable heh.

He has turned into a legitimate first pairing dman so no.

Short answer: no. Long answer: he’s playing out of his mind and his advanced stats have him as a top-5 defenseman in the NHL this year, and the Smith/Severson pairing has been unreal.

Most important dman on the team on a terrific contract. We won’t win many trades involving him.

Damn lol. I thought it might be a stupid question. His analytics are indeed very good, which is what made me inquire, though I've actually liked him for awhile. I remember us fans collectively shaking our heads when we passed on him in 2012 and selected Alex Mallet. Who is that, you ask? Exactly.

How about you give us Pettersson and Quinn to join his brother and you got a deal:sarcasm:

Would have rather given Blackwood off yesterday but oh well, hope Dell is solid

This game today will say a lot about how effective Dell can be.

Not expecting a shutdown performance like we all expect from Blackwood so I want to see that Dell is at least better than Wedgewood (or is that too low a bar?)

What’s great about guys like Severson, Zacha and McLeod coming in to their own is their contracts are so cheap at the moment. Even Zachas and McLeods next contracts will be uber affordable. That helps this team.

Our version of this is Connor Chatham, when the whole board was screaming for Brayden Point.
