Arguments that strange are usually only reserved for when we win games.

If things don’t get better in a few weeks: fire coach, get a 1st+ whatever for Hall, get a 2nd or possibly 1st for Vatanen, get a 3rd or possibly 2nd for Greene, lose a ton of games ensuring another top 3 pick.

Replacing Hall with Lafrenire, Byfield, or Raymond wouldn’t be so bad...That this is even on my mind 6 games into the season is immeasurably disappointing.

I am very close to the point where I would basically trade whatever it took to get a legitimate youngish LHD who can play in his own end. That includes our draft pick, Ty Smith, one of the Jespers, etc.

the system is trash. However I am of the opinion that with a different coach we can still be respectable back there. And if we got a capable LHD it would balance out the lineup pretty well

I dunno, I think that bringing back the lou seppuku policy is a good one tbh. We won three cups and only lost a few players along the way. Net win.

To be clear, that comment was directed at the folks who think the dinner pic is perfectly fine.

Anywho, this franchise was run 100x better in the prime Lou days than this current shit show.

I know it goes against the youngish part of your post but I would've loved to seen them acquire Muzzin. If we did that with this current lineup the defense could be

Muzzin-Subban
Butcher-Vatanen
Greene-Severson

I think that makes us a better club right off the bat. This is also why I was almost disappointed we won the lottery because we essentially lost out on getting Byram who I believe will be an absolute stud sooner than later. Having said that I'm obviously not disappointed we won the lottery.

Well I do happen to work in the public relations field and thing the reaction is overblown, but expected. The context is a group dinner (at like 5 or 6 pm) on a holiday, specifically Thanksgiving for the Canadian players. It is fine. It isn’t them partying up at a club late night before a game.

Having said that, I would have advised PK not to post the picture, even well intended. He isn’t in Nashville/Midwest anymore and on the East Coast these things can be taken out of context. If this team actually got media attention, it would probably have the rep as one of the more difficult places to play.

But overall this is an overreaction and much to do about nothing.

Somehow, someway, we've got people who are trying to gaslight you into thinking that a positive team bonding moment between in a difficult time is somehow a travesty because I'M PISSED AND YOU SHOULD BE TOO.

Replace everything that happened, and pretend it's the Toronto Maple Leafs laughing & having a fancy dinner in whatever-the-posh-night-out area of Toronto is, while starting 0-6 & being on the precipice of the season already being over.

Am I wrong to think this wouldn't be a major story, and 3/4 the city wouldn't be pizzed off? I honestly dont know, so I'd be interested to hear from some of our resident Ontarians, but my guess would be, "yes", it would be a huge media story in a very negative context.

I take it even more systematically than just 1 LHD, though I completely agree with that, but add that I believe we need seriously to restock the defense here and in the pipeline, left is critical but size and strength are also critical. I look at who beat us recently: Eckblad and the other kid last night (shot was tipped on the tying goal), Stralman and Yandle; in Boston, McAvoy, Grzelick, two other guys; in Buffalo that new # 1 pick from Sweden, even Ristolainen on the second pair . . . We are being outclassed on the back end and it’s a huge reason why we are getting dominated.

Unfortunately, all he cares about is for his players to push the play forward and doesn't care about defense.

When was the last time he actually said we should be better defensively in one of his press conferences ?
