I thought Pop's benefitted because he was playing harder then the rest of the guys. Evident by his celly, he cared. Which is fine by me, him upping the energy level is key to him developing. I see it as a good sign.

Pops was fired up before the game started. He and Speers had a disagreement, that got pretty heated, on how to run the warmup drill.

I have a hard time believing the other players weren't giving their all. Hughes, Boqvist, Smith, Anderson, and maybe Seney are the only ones that have NHL spots to lose, for everyone else this is a rare opportunity to Bratt yourself in the NHL.

I mean, I wouldn't mind being wrong about Pop at all. If he reaches his ceiling he'll be a tremendous asset to the team.

If he reaches his ceiling, we will have a player as tall as Chara.

Well how can you give your all when it's basically non contact?

I go back to the difficulty of watching the action, so maybe I just had a distorted view, but it certainly looked like there were guys coasting around at times.

Edit: and was it prospect camp or training camp/preseason where Bratt made it clear that he was ready for the NHL?

I do remember Dudek having a nice camp scrimmage a bunch of years ago.

Well that's pretty interesting.

I guess this was a case of a guy getting motivated more organically, but isn't that one of the keys to player development, or coaching in general, how to to motivate the players?

Imagine if that was the catalyst for Pop to get to the NHL?

He'd owe Speers dinner or something.

The best thing about Pops play is that he played to his size. At any point he felt like, he would just shield the puck in open ice and there was no way anyone was getting was getting it off him.

Nothing more frustrating than a huge player, that plays like he's a finesse speedster who needs to skate around everyone.

Anyone can tell me how Nicholas Canade looked as non drafter/camp invite for this year's development camp?
