He could be an all star but it literally is a non factor in grading the trade unless we have conclusive proof the Wings wanted him but were unable to draft due to the trade.

Which at that point in the draft is likely not the case. Early on sure, a good example is you can easily argue the Leafs would have drafted Seguin if they didn’t trade for Kessel, he was the obvious choice. In the 4th round, I feel like it’s almost impossible to predict who teams will choose.

The Kyle Quincey trade was terrible regardless of who that 1st turned into.

Lose Quincey on waivers because you don't have the heart to cut 47 year old Chelios then compound that by picking Derek Meech over Quincey. Then give up a 1st to get Quincey back.
