Detroit Rookies Making Their Mark

HFNHL Red Wings

Guest
As the Wings enter the final weeks of the season it’s time to take a look at two key rookies in the lineup and their contribution.

Brad Boyes:
With innumerable changes to line combinations, and the team roster itself, Boyes has been the lone constant on the Wings second line.
The season has truly been a streaky one for the first year pivot as he has been either hot or cold as he has been held pointless in 33 of the 66 games but has had 15 multi point games
Boyes is currently enjoying his longest point streak of the season of 7 games and is moving up the rookie scoring leader list and is currently 3rd in team scoring.
Boyes is currently on pace for 66pts which would make him the highest scoring rookie in the history of the HFNHL Red Wing organization.

Longest pointless streak – 7 games
Longest points streak – 7 games
Longest goal scoring streak – 5 games
First point – Game 8 vs. Jackets
First multi point game – Game 12 vs. Capitals
First goal – Game 16 vs. Blackhawks

Henrik Lundqvist:
You won’t find Lundqvist among leaders in GAA or save percentage but the first year stopper has been by far the teams MVP so far this season. Having played in 49 of the teams 66 games he always gives the team a chance to win and he has done so frequently. In fact Lundqvist has the best winning percentage of any goaltender in the league that has played at least 30 games.

Lundqvist – 65.31%
DiPietro – 60.42%
Burke – 59.09%
Turco – 55.36%
Vokoun - 55.17%
