Yeah no excuses to lose this one. Should be an easy win if we play like we have in the last couple of games. Hopefully we can get the offense going, Nyquist/Tatar/Sheahan/Jurco could all use goals.

It would be nice if we can get going and make a last run at 2nd in the division. With 2 games in hand and 1 more meeting with Tampa it's not impossible, just gotta string some wins together.

Which is why I find it hilarious when people suggest selling the farm to take one last run at the Cup. Datsyuk and Zetterberg can barely make it through a full season anymore. No way am I sacrificing the future for two players that simply aren't durable anymore. I'll be happy if they want to stick around, but the time to invest in these players is long gone. It's not 2008. Detroit has to keep looking forward to remain competitive long-term.

No one has ever suggested selling the farm. Great strawman you're building there.

Also, who cares if Datsyuk and Hank can't make it through the season when they're perenially better in the playoffs than all the other young, healthy forwards we have? They were both riddled with injuries last year and yet were PPG in the playoffs.

Pittsburgh should probably just pack it in too. Crosby and Malkin can't make it through the season.

#RedWings have five 20-goal scorers (Tatar, Datsyuk, Nyquist, Cole, Abby), most in the NHL. Only 5 teams have 4 or more 20-goal scorers

agreed and also to note, better than most players they are playing against in the playoffs with exception to some

And Zetterberg is only 4 away from making it 6.

Helm and Sheahan have extreme outside chances to get there, but it would involve them getting incredibly hot and scoring 7 and 8 goals respectively to close out the season.

Wow that's pretty impressive. Glad to see the scoring by commitee. However seems lately the scoring hasn't been as prevelent. Lets hope tonight can really kick start some of these guys that have been slumping on the score sheet.
