Alfons Malmström finally signed with a team - Bodens in Division 1 (tier 3)...

Never really understood that pick.

Jesper Eliasson was also selected as best goalie in that tournament, he had a 96.1 save-% in the two games he played.

Kivenmäki lead Finland in tournament scoring. In today's game he took over Kotkaniemi's spot as 1C and played 21+ minutes, had 5 shots and won 52% of his faceoffs. I watched most of it and he had a really solid performance considering he's never played center at this level. Very smart and calm with the puck. I don't think it's impossible that he becomes a center at some point. He's such a natural playmaker, good at zone entries and also does a good job with backchecking. Some of the small details in his game show that he's probably watched a good amount of Pavel highlights...

looking forward for another 3-4 years and we have very young lineup
Rasmussen - Larkin- Mantha
Bertuzzi-Veleno- Zadina
Gogolev- Kivenmaki- Berggren
Turgeon-Gallant-Smith
Mantha and Bert will be the oldest 26 year olds , Larkin 25
then we have McIsaac , Hicketts, Cholovsky , Hronek as core defense
Keep dreaming ……………………………………………………………………...

Pronman mentioned Kivenmäki & Eliasson on his recap of the recent U20 tournament.

On Kivenmäki:
- quite impressive, high end skill level and playmaking, made lots of plays
- skates well but not exceptional for his size
- wasn't on his recent DRW prospect list but would be now, in the mix for WJC even as a 2000.

On Eliasson:
- dominant at times, tough saves consistently
- great athleticism & size, good glove...
- this tournament probably put him in the WJC mix

Hmmm... Kind of impressed so far with the new group of kids. I know it's super super super early, but most of them actually look promising. Still waiting for Regula to take it up a notch.

Berggren's a really solid passer, his vision is impressive. I also like that he is perpetually in motion on the PP. He is hunting for open ice, I see the Arvidsson comparison there, he never turns his feet off he is always moving.
