Mrazek, add Janmark.

After this it gets a little tougher for me.

Mrazek, since it looks like Janmark will win anyway shout out to Athanasiou for a pretty solid year thus far, still doesn't use his teammates enough for me, but I do like watching him play a lot.

Since it looks like we aren't going to have much to talk about I will go ahead and stir the pot early.

Sproul unless you are voting heavily on potential should not be collecting votes already. His defense is miles from ready and has real concerns to whether or not he can ever be anything more than a third pairing PP specialist. I like that he is improving but he has an ocean to go. I hate the stat but his +/- has gone thud in hurry here lately as his mistakes continuously end up in the Griffins net.

Marchenko and Ouellet don't even have bad potential and are severely out playing him right now. As I stated in the first thread I think he actually has the highest potential in our entire pool, but there are serious problems to his game right now, I am glad his offense translated early in the pros, though he seems to have hit some kind of wall lately.

Its his first pro season, its not unusual for players to hit a wall around now. Even NHL vets have to suffer through the dog days of January.

Mrazek. Add Janmark.

Going with Sheahan at #4 thanks to his good play with the Wings.

Agreed. Sheahan and Jarnkrok should both be ahead of him at this point. Sheahan is basically a sure thing and Jarnkrok is turning the corner. Sproul should be in the group with Ouellet Pulkkinen Backman and probably Marchenko, albeit it near the top end of that group

On a board where our #1 prospect is playing in juniors, it appears that potential takes precedent over everything else.

Not saying there's anything wrong with that, just saying that based on that you shouldn't be surprised.

I have Sheahan pegged at #4. But Sprouls high ceiling makes #5 pretty much a 50/50 toss-up between him and Jarnkrok in my eyes.

Like you said, he does have a very high ceiling, and IMO if he puts it all together were talking about a guy who could lead the defensive scoring race in the NHL. Offensively I think he does have THAT MUCH potential, but he needs to put in a lot of work in the other areas of his game like you said.

Kind of hard to ignore a guy with the size and offensive skillset he has at the D-man position.

sproul could be cody franson or mike green. wouldn't be shocked with either outcome.

it's effin plusminus but he was +18 or so at some point and now he's +5.

i think he's D has improved but the points and goals have disappeared. i wonder if blash has told him to focus on D a lot more.

Went with Mrázek last time. Going with him again.
(I don't know who to add since only prospects that I actually follow are already all up there.)

God damned Blashill. He is as moron as Babcock was for Smith ! :sarcasm:

well holland has repeatedly said that NHL isn't development league; but pretty clearly babcock did that with smith; and still does to at least certain extent.

it might be better in the long run for smith; and most likely for sproul.

i'm not sure if smith didn't want to learn in AHL, fraser didn't know how to teach him or if smith just didn't/doesn't have the ability to play D. or maybe combo of those.

that said, smith's play without the puck has developed a ton. it's the play with the puck in d-zone that is the problem imo.

Petr Mrazek, a player that I seriously would have considered for #1.

Lol Mrazek with 3. on lock feel bad for him though he would be higher if he wasn't a goalie. He has damn near all the votes.
