I have read from multiple non-reliable sources that Nyquist supposedly nixed a trade elsewhere. I read Boston as one of the places he nixed a trade to but who knows whether or not that’s true.

I love the smugness of these posts. Trade value, especially at the TDL, is a floating target. Either way this is great value for the Sharks.

On the other hand, I remember being told Jensen wasn't worth a 2nd and Tatar wasn't worth a 1st ++.

This is great to hear. I know Nyquist is a rental, but being first on his list is a big deal, not just for our cup run, but it gives us a leg up on a potential re-signing if we decide to move on from JP. Not saying its going to happen but the more options the Sharks have, the better.

Also if this increases the appeal of our franchise more to EK then I am even more happy about the acquisition. Shows commitment to winning and a commitment to become more Swedish .
