Is it possible to pull out from a deal several days after you have made an offer? I do understand that they might have signed higher ranked players and therefor Hatcher is no longer an option. Isnt an offer final since you have made one?

Found this on the free agency rules

VI. All offers are final.
SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW BEFORE YOU MAKE AN OFFER IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.

All offers were final, but HAtcher decided not to accept any of them. He tried to get more money from the teams and it failed. Had Hatcher accepted one of the offers, it would have been binding. In between rounds people can drop out of the bidding for a player.

That's exactly it. Hatcher is trying to max out his contract by inviting teams to 're-submit', but that carriers a risk. But in the end, he didn't receive one unconditional offer in the first round anyway, so it wasn't a major risk for him. Teams were simply more interested in Boucher, Rivet, Zubov and others.

With the Hatcher biddding scrubbed from the Free Agency update board, does Reggie have an indication of what kind of contract Hatcher is prepared to sign? (or rather, what he WASN'T prepared to sign...)

Well, at this point, he's looking for an unconditional offer. As stated, he literally has never had a firm offer he had the option to sign. All of them were 'back-up' offers to other players, or pulled off the table. The highest 'conditional offer' was $3 million, although he obviously would have signed for less by now had someone made him a firm offer.

So basically, Reggie has been talking with a lot of teams about potential $'s, but none have faxed over an offer. Think of Ari from Entourage freaking out in his office and kicking over the water cooler while offering politically incorrect comments and criticisms to his support staff.

Reggie and Ari are a lot alike.
