If a team scores during a delayed penalty, without or before pulling the goalie, does that still wipe out the ensuing power play?

Yes. You aren't required to pull the goalie. It's just a perfect strategy created around the wording of when a penalty is officially called.

The goal was still scored at even strength even if the goalie was pulled.

The Leafs were already on the powerplay, so Kessel's goal ended the current powerplay and the delayed penalty started a new powerplay.
