The sequence of actions is important.
- Preliminary agreement with Winnipeg Jets on the cost of the Dubois exchange.
- Obtaining permission from the Jets to negotiate the Rangers with Dubois.
- Verbal agreement with Dubois on the preliminary conclusion of a new contract (from season 2022-23).
- Formalization of an agreement with Winnipeg Jets on the exchange of Dubois.
- Conclusion of a new contract with Dubois according to the agreement on the terms of the contract.
- Contract - Effective from the 2022-23 season. Registration of the contract on the first possible day (according to NHL rules - example: Thomas Chabot, Nico Hischier).

Salary caps for both teams for the 2021/22 season are in good order (RFA, UFA).
If you cannot reach an agreement, you can easily refuse to exchange.
The teams will remain in the same positions.
Dubois prices are subject to change. The player will play in the Stanley Cup.

Dubois exchange without a new agreement would be a possible error for the Rangers.

The terms of the new Dubois contract are of paramount importance. Contract duration and AAV.
Dubois may want to play Rangers.
There should be a big difference in AAV with other potential applicants for the 1C seat.
In this case, the exchange makes sense.

Proposed template (75%) of the deal:

Rangers:
Pierre-Luc Dubois
3rd 2021
3rd 2022 (CBJ)
Jets:
Braden Schneider
Ryan Strome (@ 50% Ret) $4,500,000 = $2,250,000
Pavel Buchnevich RFA.

Rangers gets:

1C - Pierre-Luc Dubois
Freedom of action with Zibanejad and Chytil.
Facilitates the development of Lafreniere, Kakko, Kravtsov.
Simplifies the fulfillment of the tasks set by the club owner.

Jets gets:
No drop in value for Dubois (playing in position 2C).
Future RD Top-2.
The club's playing potential does not fall much.
Opportunities for good exchanges in the deadline (if necessary).

The exchange can be beneficial to both teams.
Schneider + Buchnevich - is the defining part of the exchange.
Other teams can make the best offer.
The inclusion of Strome in the exchange significantly increases the likelihood of a deal.
If a new contract is signed, then the value of the deal is acceptable to the Rangers.
What do you think about this? Who adds?

This is bern-esque, PLD definitely is happy in Canada and playing well for the Jets. No reason they move him.
With what we’ve just seen the last month Schneider’s value to the rangers is sky high. Almost irreplaceable. He’s not moving. Kid can’t get here fast enough

PLD for Strome is pretty much 1 for 1 atm.. in what they bring to the table playwise, and yes that are performing as 2C's.

Giving away Buch and Schneider for two 3rds? Cant see why
Hey, wanna trade your Tesla with flat tires, for my 98 Civic that runs great and two Celine Dion CD’s.

They both perform the same…

I think the Jets hold onto their guy here. Will probably look to address the need on D via free agency.

I like the trade though. How soon is Schneider going to be in the league?

there is only 1 bernmeister
accept no imitations

that said,
while nearly everybody is theoretically available for a profit, Jets need Dub. and NY needs Schneid

The NHL has sorely missed Torts/Brooks interactions, Bern.

I don't give a flying or a stationary fig

Not gonna have a return of that idiot w/his every skater is another G shotblocking scheme, resulting in ultimate win now while breaking down players incl esp mobility all too fast

Strome and Buch will both be looking at substantial raise (7M + / year) due to their career year this year, this makes zero sense for WIN... none whatsoever

I don't see why Rangers would do this only to have freedom with Zibanejad to move him? I can see some of our D prospects traded, and for some reason I think there's going to be a stupid move done with Buchnevich, but I don't think it makes sense going after PLD with intentions of him being our 1c.

Jets have cap issues why would they trade PLD and for Strome?? No way they do this.....

Jets don’t have cap issues, just an FYI. Cap is one of their least concerns. Cap is currently the best it’s been in multi years.

1) I'm not sure there the gap between PLD and Strome is all that great (if at all)

2) It's certainly not so great that two third rounders even out the Rangers including Buch and Schneider.

Strome is 5 years older and a UFA in a year, not to mention PLD adds size down the middle. Strome has definitely put up bigger numbers in the last year, but from a Jets POV that just makes it unlikely that they would be able to resign him. He also was not anywhere close to as productive with his previous teams, so the Jets would be running the risk of Strome numbers dropping substantially as there is a reasonable chance that part of his success is that he is just a great fit in the Rangers system. Honestly I don't get why Ranger fans keep making proposals with him, every other fan is wary for the reasons above, while he has been great for you guys. With his previous struggles and his fit in the current organization it seems like there would be a chance of a home town discount, especially with it being NY.

Strome put up 50 points for the isles in his second season as a 21 year old. He then had 2 seasons with the isles and 1 season with the Oilers he put up 94 pts in 240 games. He then got traded to the Rangers and has put up 141 points in 189 games. 108 pts in his last 126 games. Its amazing this guy is still the 22 to 24 year old player in your mind rather then anything else he has done.

This reads like some legal waiver written by someone whose first language isn’t English. Good work.
