Even though Marchand won the most votes, it was way too close with the other 3 players tied with 11 votes apiece. So the order of most votes for these 4 players will determine rankings 10-13 on my list.

1. Patrice Bergeron (Boston Bruins)
2. Anze Kopitar (Los Angeles Kings)
3. Jonathan Toews (Chicago Blackhawks)
4. Ryan Kesler (Anaheim Ducks)
5. Mikko Koivu (Minnesota Wild)
6. Aleksander Barkov (Florida Panthers)
7. Ryan O'Reilly (Buffalo Sabres)
8. Mikael Backlund (Calgary Flames)
9. Nicklas Backstrom (Washington Capitals)

Dumb way to go about the ranking, once one player is removed, the votes could totally go a different way.

Defensive forward is an oxymoron? I'd rather have the guy that outscores their opponent! Defensive forwards are for the 3rd and 4th lines.

If an offensive guy scores 10 and allows 12 goals, while the defensive player scores 4 and allows only 2, give me the defensive forward thanks.

... it's not an oxymoron. There is nothing contradictory about being a forward and focusing on defence.
