I know that ESPN is not the best for hockey but here is a link to a good story about a good organization.

Good timing with Veterans' Day tomorrow. While the military life can be difficult (personally, I think it is harder on my family than me), seeing people step up and NHL'ers helping out are a nice thank you and something that us in the military community really appreciate.

On a personal note, Defending the Blue Line helped with keeping the ice rink at Ft. Bragg, NC, Cleland Ice Rink, open when it was discussed about closing it as a budget cut. Fortunately, Cleland is still open and has a booming youth hockey organization that my five year old son is a part of, the Cape Fear Youth Hockey Association, that uses the facility.
