Voted Doughty. I don't follow Kings but is there a reason that he's still on the board? Other than he's 31 and overpaid.

Because he just isn't very effective. Too many games where he doesn't even look like he's trying. The intensity that used to be a big part of his game is gone. Last year was supposedly some kind of bounce-back for Doughty but there is no tangible result of that.

Chabot had a pretty bad year in my opinion. There were about two months where he was making several glaring turnovers per game. It didn't just look bad, it cost the Sens games.

The most consistently excellent defenseman available here is Zach Werenski.

Doughty's underlying results were quite a bit better last year than the previous two, though not like prime Doughty. He had quite good relative numbers, though mediocre overall numbers and regression paints him as only above average. I still think he can bring that intensity if the games matter, which is why Id take him here if I was trying to compete in the playoffs, though it'd be different if we're just guessing how well they're going to play this coming season.
