Be really curious to see some peoples predictions, because before the game yesterday, this board was preparing for a epic collapse in the standings.

The real question is.... will we win our first New Years' Eve game since 1985?

Well Game 1 of December in the books with a W, whats Decembers record going to be? I think we find out this team is for real this month.

Canucks W
Sens W
Kings W
Buffalo L
Hurricanes OTL
Wild L
Leafs W
Stars L
Blues OTL
Pens W
Habs W
Canucks W
Flames W
Rangers W

9-3-2
25-12-5

Oilers schedule this year (2019) is so soft relatively speaking. Next year will be tougher (2020).

October buttery soft. November was average at worst. December rather spongy.

With Parity where it is. Especially in the West. Speed and Scoring where it's at. Thanksgiving deadline doesn't mean as much anymore.

And the Oilers have a bad game for every great and the rest are won by inches.

Unfortunately the Oilers will not find out what kind of team they are until they clinch a playoff spot imo.

They need to really be strong this month. Put some points in the bank like they did in October. A successful December is one where they play considerably above 500 w/l ratio.

I suspect a 7-5-2. But with those opponents 10-3-1 is more what is needed.

8 of their last 11 on the road, yup such a soft schedule.

It certainly tends to look "soft" when you win the majority of the game, despite the assumption of multiple losses.

Everyone has their own opinion on what all entitles a bad schedule.

Road games are a part of that. Back to backs. Opponents. Etc...

I think the 2019 portion of the Oilers schedule is the softest I can remember.

Better win against the low end teams. The middle of this month is rough.

I think 10 wins is very achievable actually, but 8 is prob more realistic, so I picked 9 lol
My thought as well, I could see them doing more, but you are probably right about the 8 count. Like I said, I feel really good about this team, so I see very good results.

Lately we basically lose all the games during the Christmas break between Xmas and New Years. Fortunately that's only two games this year so hopefully the damage is minimized.

8 of their last 11 on the road, yup such a soft schedule.

Furthermore, I remember the narrative going into November that it would be a real challenge because November was a much tougher schedule than October firstly for opposition, secondly for the large number of road games down the stretch. Turns out they did pretty well. December looks softer than November so hopefully they keep it rolling.

Also the way this year has rolled along with some surprising teams both ways, games that look like they would be tough later in the season may become less so as everyone records settle in.

If we get healthy and win games we are supposed to.... we could rack up a playoff birth this month...

I won't even bother guessing, it just gets me mad.
They beat good teams.
They beat bad teams.
They lose to good teams.
They lose to bad teams.
