I don't think it matters, honestly, because several of us who are or have been STH have expressed opinions - having seen the games in person and at length - that you have still pooh-poohed because they don't line up in lockstep with whatever the coaching staff is doing or saying.
At some point you just need to admit that you're toeing the party line.
The game is fast and assignments are fluid. You really can't enjoy the game by watching and analyzing one player and what he does without the puck because mostly we watch the puck. Game film later is where you can look at one specific player and what he does or does not do. The coaches have a great view of the ice and can see it more clearly but still use lots of film.
