Lightning

Signed since last fall:

Andy Rogers (04)
Justin Keller (04)
Karri Ramo (04)
Radek Smolenak (05)
Stan Lascek (05)
Fredrik Norrena (02)
Matt Smaby (03)

Going back into the draft:

Mark Tobin (2-04)

To be determined:

Blair Jones (05 - they are still in negotiations)
PJ Atherton (02 - finished U-Minnesota, waiting to see how 50-man roster pans out)

Euros TB loses rights to:

Johan Hagglund (00)
Henrik Bergfors (01)
Karri Akkanen (02)

To the best of my knowledge, Smolenak has not signed.

I even made a thread about it on the Lightning board, and the consensus was he was not signed, and probably won't be this summer.

Nicklas Danielsson is apparently close to signing with Vancouver.

David Schulz is the only unsigned player left from 2004.

Mike Brown and Julien Ellis-Plante have been signed.

Cory Schneider, Andrew Sarauer remain in College

Jannik Hansen and Alex Edler were drafted out of Europe.

I'm guessing that if they turn 20 before June 1st then they are a UFA (a not totally uneducated guess, in this case).

Is that really the rule? 20 years old on June 1st the cut off date? I always wondered why some prospects re-entered the draft while others became UFA's. This must explain it.

Well, it used to be the rule- I'm confident about that. But under the new CBA, I don't know. I haven't heard that it's changed.

So what big names didn't get signed and either re-enter the draft or become UFAs?

Chicago let Troy Brouwer go, he's a player a team should go after.

Edmonton with Roman Tesliuk.

Who else didn't sign?

Have you got a link to a story comfirming that?

I'm asking because the Hawks have definitely signed more prospects today - they just haven't announced who they are yet.

They are waiting until all the paperwork is done, and the signings become "official", before releasing the names.

We may get the info tonight, though tomorrow is the best bet.

Heuh, no, North American players can't be drafted if they are 21 or turn 21 before the end of the draft year

that's is why the 1986 born player that re-enter draft or that are undrafted can be taking again and that the 1985 born player become free agent

Someone heard about the Pens singing prospect other than Kennedy???

Nadda. Morrison & Gutierrez are going back into the draft. All our other picks didn't have to be signed yet due to either collegiate or european status.

I'm confused to Sersen considering he's been in the QMJHL the whole time...but the Post-Gazette never mentioned him going back in.

generally euro player that are draft out of one of the CHL league, they need to be signed after the 2 years like any other CHL players, but because he's born in 1985, he would be UFA

#50 pick = Enver Lisin.

I still haven't heard anything about Aaron Gagnon, but not really a surprise.
