Sure you could, but what does that have to do with Leon's massive jump in production? Think about it, the guy over his first 3 fulls season never cracked 30 goals. Last year he goes with McDavid and hits the 50 goal mark. Leon is a good player and he's benefiting from playing with one of the best players in the world.

You put Pasta with McDavid and he'd win the Rocket every year.

He might win it this year even with that slouch of centreman he plays with :sarcasm:

I don't see him winning it playing with 63/37 simply because the distribution of goals is pretty spread out between the 3 of them. Also, I'm not sure what the slouch comment is about. Bergy a an elite center and one of the best of his time....but he doesn't offensively lift players like a McDavid or Crosby.

It was a sarcastic comment- thus the emoji thing. You know, because I don't think Bergeron is much below McDavid in talent and frankly is a much better all-around player. In other words, I think Pasta scores a ton of goals because he benefits just a Draisatl does with McDavid. You may be right about the scoring distribution thing.

Toronto media playing the what if game on the talk shows today... will Matthews win the rocket? they figure the answer is yes but admit that there might be competion with laine and neal lol and of course Ovechkin {notice no mention of pastrnak?}

are we dealing with one of the leagues most underrated players here? does it matter? I have mentioned here now for over a decade how skilled players dont fare well if they are 'sawft'

I predicted seguin would fall out of favor and get traded... back in the joe thornton days I predicted he would fall out of favor and be traded... of course I was predicting kessel wouldnt last here... and I was sad to see dougie Hamilton not develop a snarl because I predicted without it, he would start getting booed and run out of town as wll.

so... along comes pastrnak and my warning radar has been up. I watched for the first signs of the fanbase turning on him... and of course it came during the playoffs last year when he was battling his hand injury. now early this season we have heard that he has his head up his backside... that hes passing too much... that they make too many bad decesions on the first pp unit...

its all a loosening of the fabric... making it ok for him to become a target of the segment of fans here in boston that have run too many talented guys out of town.

pastrnak's fans {and smart hockey fans here in general} need to make sure this guy doesnt become under appreciated. Having a 35-40 goal sniper in town is a much needed very good thing. its too bad he was hurt in the playoffs last year because I think a healthy pastrnak turns the tables on st louis and we win in 6.

would we all like to see him step up the intensity level 100% of the time... sure, I would... but it aint going to happen over an 82 game schedule. Hes on pace for 100 points after our road trip... thats a good thing. Hes the guy on our team we are hoping to get results from even when he doesnt have his A game going... the guy we want to get easy goals from. So far hes delivering what hes paid for {and remember his contract is a hell of a bargain compared to drasaitl and Matthews too}

Did some googling this morning to see how many goals Ovi had through 8 games the year he scored 65. He had 5. Pastrnak has 9.

I’m not saying Pastrnak will stay this hot all year, but when he’s on his game there aren’t many better goal scorers.

I think he struggles with inconsistency at times but he's legitimately the most offensively gifted player we've had since... I don't even know. It just feels like he still has so much room to grow as well.

he`ll never be a Selke candidate but I`ve appreciated his commitment to, at the very least, not be a liability in his own zone. Still can`t believe this is the same kid who used to hit the ice when someone sneezed in his direction he was so slim but he`s clearly spent a load of time getting stronger.

He`s just one of those players that you love to watch, a kid who clearly has a blast doing this for a living

His defense doesn't really matter too much to me if he's playing with better defensive players. He's just a bundle of skill. He has this drunken master approach to carrying the puck but he still slices through defenses with ease most of the time with skating/puck-skills/creativity, he has exceptional vision and passing ability, and as complete of a shot repertoire as you can get. I feel like he produces more highlight reel goals compared to the total goals he gets relative to anyone.

DeBrusk has shown he has 30 goal capability.
Centers are more valuable than wingers and beside
Coyle there aren't any younger #1/2 centers.

Not knocking Pastrnak just think more highly of
Larkin.
i can't believe i'm going to do this, but I'm bored at work on a Monday so I'll bite...

say you trade Pastrnak for Larkin...

You're good with trading a guy with ONE season over 30 goals & 70 points for a guy who has 3 including an 81 point year that was actually a 100 point pace?

And after you make said trade, you're totally cool with Karson Kuhlman being our first line RW? Where the hell does Larkin even play? Is Coyle your 4th line C now?

So general consensus is everyone knew his shot was going through Freddie before he even wound up right? That was a rocket. We’ve seen that movie several times

you mean this is our sad history... or maybe you didnt mean that and simply dont understand?

a lot of people thought albert eistein was mentally challanged because they just werent smart enough to understand him themselves. it happens... dont sweat it
Wow ... thanks. What I understood was... you are saying that a segment of fans in Boston have the power to run high end talent out of town??? Is that right or I'm too dumb to understand?

I liked seeing him get in a position to do it at 5 on 5. Even if it meant he was a little wider and higher than on the PP.

Me too. More of that would be nice. What I don't get is why other teams continue to give him so much room and freedom around that spot during PPs. If I was an opposing team's coach, during PK's I'd have one guy basically joined at the hip to Pasta the entire time and giving him zero space. If the other Bruins can manage to score by alternative means with essentially the remaining 4 vs 3 I'd say fair enough to them, but I'd be willing to bet that most of the time they couldn't do it.

The fact that Pasta somehow still manages to fly just a little under the radar is a good thing for the Bs. I don't think it'll last much longer though.
