Carbonneau was an absolute defensive beast, exactly the kind of guy you’d want/need on a Cup contender.

Carbo, second greatest defensive forward of all time. 3 Selke, 3 Stanley Cups (one as the captain with the Habs). He has neutralized Gretzky and Lemieux like no others before or after him.

elite 2 way centres are as important as any position in a Cup run, especially today (ROR, Kopitar, Toews, Bergeron, Crosby).... not a coincidence that he won 3, two with mediocre Habs teams

I understand he was good at defence but the names he’s being thrown around with are almost laughable.

Career high 57 at a time and on a team where scoring was premium. Andreychuk has seasons of 99, 91, 87, hell he beat guy’s career high in like all of his first 10 seasons???

Kopitar is comparable defensively and WAY better offensively.

Maybe it’s just recent bias and reading numbers but 663 points in 1318 games gets you in the HHOF? His defence must have been amazing because no one (except that idiot cox) is going crazy.

Carbo, guy is one of the better defensive centres in hockey history.

Carbonneau. I usually go with the better offensive player, but this is one of those circumstances where the exception beats the rule.
