Datsyuk v Forsberg

People need to get over Forsberg's PPG. His NHL career was pretty much over at 32 years old. Of course his PPG is gonna be high when he didn't play the downswing.

Even when he came back with a bum foot he still scored at a high rate for the Avs. And if he hadn't had so many injuries during his prime he likely would have boosted his PPG so that as he tailed off it would have evened out.

I don't get how people could vote Datsyuk here to be honest. Maybe if he had 10 years at his 2007-09 level and also brought that in the playoffs consistently for 10 years, but his career turned out to be quite far from that.

It was just too damn hard to do anything with him on the ice. His giveaway takeaway ratio was flat out insane and his offensive upside way underrated. He carried the Wings to the playoffs through a lot of lean years for the Wings. Sure they had Lidstrom, but there were a lot of years where they didn't have a lot of depth compared to their cup runs in the 90's and I never had a lot of respect for Howard or Osgoood.
