Only thing I recall Ovechkin being able to do is sit by the left circle and wait for a one-timer, let alone be able to play shutdown defense, like Fedorov did.

Bure is definitely > Ovechkin at goal scoring, pking, speed, play off performing.

Peak goal scoring I think it's quite close between the two. But the assertion of Bure having tougher competition is overstated, and I think Ovechkin's goal scoring prime was too lengthy to say that Bure surpasses him in that aspect.

It's close, but Bure gets the edge. What's being understated is the fact that Ovechkin had Backstrom as a linemate over the years, and didn't have to worry about the two line passing.

I have nothing more to say about this except "no".
