The Florida Panthers are happy to select right winger Michael Ryder with their fourth round pick. They feel that with the foundation of Niedermayer, Kariya and Comrie in place, they now need some complementary players with more grit. They feel that Ryder provides that as he drives hard to the net, goes into the corners and digs for loose pucks. He also has a potent wrist shot. All this for a bargain price of $605,000, part of the reason why the Panthers are so thrilled to select Ryder.

Salaries:

Niedermayer - $4,500,000
Kariya - $1,200,000
Comrie - $1,500,000
Ryder - $605,000

TOTAL: $7,805,000

Tampa takes Marian Gaborik

Montreal takes one of their own, Richard Zednik

I'll put up my roster and salaries in a second

:bolts
Forsberg...$11,000,000 ( )
Jokinen...$2,000,000
Fedotenko...$950,000
Hannan...$1,250,000

:habs
Bertuzzi...$6,800,000
Zednik...$1,850,000
Lehtonen...$1,000,000
Boyle...$2,300,000

Ugh, I've gotta start searching for bargain players, I didn't think Forsberg was 11m, more like $7m or something...

Lehtonen...$ ???

According to the rules on the front page, Lehtonen's salary is $1 million, as he was a first round draft pick and his salary cannot be found on nhlpa.com. Just to clarify.

I was giving him a chance to change his pick but he's had enough time. I sent him a PM letting him know and he was still active on the message board at the time. Anyways...

With the 105th pick, the Dallas Stars select Scott Gomez (C). (2003-04 Salary: $1,000,000)

With the 106th pick, the Detroit Red Wings select Michal Handzus (C). (2003-04 Salary: $1,533,333)

Dang it! You took Gomez! Blast! :)

The Senators are happy to select center Tyler Arnason, who they consider a young star. He also has a very cheap salary of $900,000, another main reason why they took him.

The Canucks are happy to select left winger Brenden Morrow, who they feel they needed after taking softer players such as Alfredsson, St. Louis and Morrison. Morrow also doesn't make a bundle (just $1.4 million).

Couple of things:

I hope TRS was PMed to let him know that he was up. But even if he wasn't, you should be checking up on this thread regularly. People have a tendency to forget, so just do your part and check up on the thread regularly.

monster_bertuzzi is on the clock!

and....

Once we're finished the fifth round, let's start up a new thread, huh? That way we can flood the board with a bunch of threads started by me! muhahahaha

I PM'ed wolfen by mistake this morning after making my picks, not realizing that the pick had been traded. I just sent monster_bertuzzi an PM about the next pick.

That was my bad, I wasn't clear about it on the selections list.
