If Danrik doesn't make his picks by 8:30, I won't be back until midnight to make my picks...I'm going to a friend's house to watch the NBA Finals. (Go Pistons!) I'm deciding on a couple of players I want for my next selections so I can make my pick as soon as I get home.

The Vancouver Canucks are pleased to select center Brendan Morrison. The Canucks see Morrison as a good #1 center at a reasonable salary who is good in the clutch and proved during the absence of Todd Bertuzzi that he is a good player in his own right, not just a lucky beneficiary of the chemistry that Bertuzzi and Naslund enjoy. A great playmaker with a good set of wheels and tremendous vision, Morrison is also a capable defensive player.

St. Louis - $1,500,000
Alfredsson - $6,050,000
Morrison - $2,450,000

The Ottawa Senators are pleased to select center Saku Koivu. Although Koivu is small in stature, he is big in heart. He is a great player and doesn't make huge bucks. He is perhaps one of the best centers in the game as he is a great playmaker who can score too. He's got a good set of wheels, dynamic hands and is a good leader as well. The Sens are happy to get him to complement Markus Naslund, and feel with him, Naslund and Stuart in town, they have the start of a very good team.

Salaries:

Naslund - $5,225,000
Stuart - $1,750,000
Koivu - $4,250,000

I'm having computer problems - my comp shuts down every 5-10 minutes :banghead:

I'll do my best to keep this baby up to date, but I make no promises.

The Florida Panthers are pleased to select center Mike Comrie. At a $1.5 million salary, Comrie is very affordable and at 23, is just beginning to hit his stride as an NHLer. The Panthers love Comrie's amazing playmaking ability, his vision and his ability to score goals. They feel that with Comrie, Kariya and Niedermayer in town, scoring goals will never be an issue.

Salaries:

Niedermayer - $4,500,000
Kariya - $1,200,000
Comrie - $1,500,000

TOTAL: $7,200,000

Barnaby3636 is no longer general manager of the Rangers and the Sharks. For the time being, I will be interim GM of them, and will try to find a new GM for them asap.

In my first act as interim general manager, I will make up for the skipped picks that have been made.

The San Jose Sharks are happy to select center Pavol Demitra with their second round pick. The Sharks are surprised that he's still available (considering he's basically a fourth round pick), and feel that with Demitra and Kovalchuk in town, they have the foundation for a great team in place.

With their third round pick, the Sharks pick defenseman Rostislav Klesla, who they consider a wonderful mix of size and skill, and has a very reasonable salary.

The New York Rangers are happy to select defenseman Derek Morris with their second round pick. The Rangers feel that Morris is a great young player with tremendous upside as a power play QB and a stud defenseman. They feel that he will be a key part of their blueline for many years to come.

With their third round pick, the Rangers pick right winger Jeff O'Neill. The Rangers consider O'Neill a wonderful package of size, speed and skill and are undeterred by his poor year.
