Round 25-27:

Herning - Gentofte: 5-2 [Shots 26-14, Jordan George 3G for Herning].
Great defensive display from Herning.
Gentofte keeps losing and made it possible for Aalborg and Herlev to further minimize the distance.
Not a good season-debut for Frederik Hansen in the Gentofte net.

Aalborg- Esbjerg 1-3 [Shots 20-19, Mario Lamoureux 2G 1A for Esbjerg].
Esbjerg has really it form lately and Nikolaj Henriksen keeps his good form in goal.
Aalborg was in the lead 1-0, but couldn't keep Esbjerg down.

Rødovre - Herlev 2-1 OT [Shots 31-35].
Rødovre finally got a win after a bad period.
Herlev at least got 1 point and is now only 4 points after Gentofte for 8th spot.

Frederikshavn - Rungsted 6-2 [Shots 27-23]
Frederikshavn (and George Sørensen in goal) bounces back from the loss to Herlev.
Rungsted lost with Clemente in goal and might consider Sebastian Feuk as starting goalie considering his current form?

Odense - SønderjydskE 2-3 OT [Shots 15-33, Cory Quirk 2G for SønderjydskE]
SønderjydskE gets back in track winning.
Odense got a point, but again this game their attack was stifled with only 15 shots.

So while George Sørensen plummeted on the list after letting in 5 goals on the first 7 shots against Herlev last game first period; two other Danish backups have reached 10 games and are league leading in save-%.
Christian Larsen - backup for Frederikshavn - has third best Save-% by the way with 92,2% (7M)

22nd of December - Round 26-29:

Esbjerg - Aalborg: 4-5 [Shots 36-20, Lasse Juel Korsgaard 2G, Christopher Frederiksen 3A for Aalborg].
Big win for Aalborg not losing distance to Herlev and Gentofte in the bottom fight.
Esbjerg loses in spite of massive shot-dominance.

Gentofte - Herning: 1-3 [Shots 30-27].
Another loss for Gentofte, that makes Aalborg and Herlev creep closer and closer.
Herning with another good good defensive display.

Herlev - Rødovre: 1-10 [Shots 26-45, Mikael Christensen 4G 1A, Mikkel Højbjerg 2G, Mathias Asperus 1G 4A, Nikolaj Zorko 1G 2A, Patrick Ramussen 1G 2A].
Rødovre have definitely turned their little slump around - weird to see Jannik Karvinen getting no points, when Rødovre scores 10!
Another match where defense and goaltending failed for Herlev.

Rungsted - Frederikshavn: 2-4 [Shots 25-45, Jacob Dahlström 2G 1A for Frederikshavn].
Frederikshavn keeps the lead in the series.
Rungsted is started to be "isolated" in 7th place.

SønderjydskE - Odense: 2-4 [Shots 44-20, Mads O. Lund 2G for SønderjydskE].
Odense finally got their attack running again after some low scoring matches lately.
SønderjydskE still not in the form they had earlier in the season.

29th of December - round 27-30.

Esbjerg - SønderjydskE: 0-2 [Shots 31-18].
Battle for 2nd spot goes to SønderjydskE.
Esbjerg dominating, but couldn't crack Myllikoski in the SønderjydskE net, who gets a shutout.

Herning - Aalborg: 1-0 [Shots 38-21]
Herning with another win thanks to good defense and a shutout for Simon Nielsen.
Aalborg really had the chance to catch up to Gentofte, but failed.

Rødovre - Rungsted: 5-2 [Shots 27-34, Jannik Karvinen 2G 1A for Rødovre & Erik Hjalmarson 2G for Rungsted].
Rødovre are back to winning games even though they are outshot.
Rungsted even more isolated in 7th spot.

Herlev - Gentofte: 2-5 [Shots 18-23, Roberts Jekimovs 2G 1A, Francis Verreault-Paul 4A].
Hugely important win for Gentofte gaining some distance to the two bottom teams again.
Instead of 1 point after Gentofte, Herlev is now 7 points after.

Frederikshavn - Odense: 4-6 [Shots 40-28, Dale Mitchell 2G, Ryan McDonough 1G 2A, Simon Grønvaldt 3A, Rasmus Bjerrum 3A for Odense].
Odense's attack definitely is back now.
Even the league leading Frederikshavn team could outscore them this time.

30th of December - round 28-31.

Odense - Frederikshavn: 2-4 [Shots 20-30].
This time Frederikshavn was able to keep the Odense scoring down, which gave them the win.
Odense took an awful lot of penalties this game. Probably cost them the game as Frederikshavn netted two in PP.

SønderjydskE - Esbjerg: 3-1 [Shots 24-29].
SønderjydskE's defense and goaltending has really been excellent the last two matches against Esbjerg.
Esbjerg with only 1 goal in the last two matches.

Aalborg - Herning: 4-2 [Shots 28-21, Olle Liss 2G, Nicolai Meyer 1G 2A for Aalborg & Steffen Frank 2G for Herning].
Aalborg fighting hard to catch up with Gentofte for that 8th spot.
Herning as usual low scoring and when they let in to many goals it's a loss.

Rungsted - Rødovre: 2-1 [Shots 27-37].
Here Rungsted got payback for the defeat the last match.
Lucky for Rødovre both Odense and Herning lost as well, so they still hang on to that 4th spot.

Gentofte - Herlev 2-1 [Shots 19-27].
Gentofte wins again the extremely important game for the league 8th spot. Keeps their 8 points lead to Aalborg.
Herlev probably blew it the last two matches. With two wins they would have been in front of Gentofte with 2 points, now they are 10 points behind and last in the league.

Status:

League position:
1) Frederikshavn (29M) 62P
2) SønderjydskE (29M) 58P
3) Esbjerg (29M) 52P
4) Rødovre (29M) 48P
5) Odense (29M) 46P
6) Herning (28M) 45P
7) Rungsted (29M) 40P
8) Gentofte (30M) 35P
9) Aalborg (29M) 27P
10) Herlev (31M) 25P

Top scoring teams:
1) Frederikshavn 121G
2) Odense 117G
3) Esbjerg 102G
4) Rødovre 98G
5) SønderjydskE 89G
6) Aalborg 75G
7) Gentofte 74G
8) Herning 71G
9) Herlev 67G
10) Rungsted 66G

Looks surprising right! Not at all what you would expect. Especially SønderjydskE, Herning and Rungsted has been scoring far less than I would have bet on at the start of the season.
Odense has been bombing away and Aalborg also significantly high up......

So which teams lets in the fewest goals:
1) SønderjydskE 62G
2) Herning 68G
3) Esbjerg 70G
4) Frederikshavn 72G
5) Rødovre 77G
6) Rungsted 84G
7) Gentofte 95G
8) Odense 104G
9) Aalborg 114G
10) Herlev 136G

So it's fair to say that SønderjydskE and Herning has the elite defenses in the Danish league (their goalies haven't even been really great until fairly recently - Myllykoski for SønderjydskE and Simon Nielsen for Herning).
While high scoring Odense is a swiss cheese in the other end and Aalborg and Herlev have run into some serious blow outs.
Besides Odense this actually look much more expected when viewed at the start of the season......

On a late note... As I remember there was around 2800 in attendance for that game. That's quite a number. Isn't that unusual for this time of year? Sign of the hockey marked recovering?

That number is correct. And it surprised me too. I had expected something like 2000 to show up for the game. Maybe the timing between Christmas and new year's helped? Also, both teams are showing signs of improvement this season. As far as I know, there were no 'get in free' promotion or any other kind of discounted tickets for sale.

Round 29-32 - 4-5 Jan.

4th Jan:
Herning - Rungsted: 3-1 [Shots 20-16].
Herning goes to the 4-5th spot with this win and plays tight defense with matches that have few shots.
Mathias Andersen in goal for Herning gets his second match and first win of the season.
Rungsted couldn't get back from a 0-2 deficit after the first 5 min.

5th Jan.
Odense - Esbjerg 9-3 [Shots 26-17, Mike Daugulis 3G, Henry Hardarson 2G 1A, Sean Wiles 2G 2A, Mathias Thinnesen 3A for Odense]
Odense's goal machine had a day where both Nikolaj Henriksen (left after 4 goals) and later Jeff Frazee (5 more goals) in the Esbjerg goal was shot to pieces. Overall 65% saves for their combined effort.
Esbjerg just have to hope their goalies have better luck next time.....
For Odense it was for a change not only the usual players, that did all the producing! Odense takes the 4th spot with 1 point more than Herning and Rødovre, but with 1 match more played.

Frederikshavn - Herlev 5-4 SO [Shots 38-30, Mathias Bau Hansen with So winner]
Herlev coming back from 2-4 to 4-4 in the last 8 minutes and yet still loses the match and also valuable points in the playoff race.

Aalborg - Gentofte 5-2 [Shots 25-28, Nicolai Meyer 4G (!)].
Aalborg wins the extremely important match and is now only 5 points after Gentofte. Nicolai Meyer simply has been amazing this season!
Gentofte had the chance to leave both Herlev and Aalborg "hanging" after the double win over Herlev, but missed this chance.

Round 30-33.

11th Jan:
SønderjydskE - Frederikshavn 4-2 [Shots 37-26, Thomas Spelling 2G for SønerjydskE]
SønderjydskE wins the top dual - their goaltending and defense has been excellent lately.

12th Jan:
Esbjerg - Gentofte 4-3 [Shots 43-22].
Esbjerg win it with less than 30 seconds remaining.
Gentofte lets Aalborg and Herlev have a chance to get even closer.

Rungsted - Aalborg 3-4 [Shots 30-31, Nicolai Meyer 2G for Aalborg]
Aalborg now only two points after Gentofte.
Rungsted keeps losing points to teams they should win over.

Odense - Rødovre 3-2 [Shots 31-31; Joakim Nettelbladt 1G 2A for Odense]
Odense takes over the 4th spot in the league.
Rødovre keeps sliding slowly down in the standings.

15th Jan:
Rødovre - Esbjerg 1-4 [Shots 29-27].
Rødovre risks to be overtaking by Herning, while Esbjerg is firmly in third spot.

Herning - SønderjydskE 2-3 SO [Shots 19-24, Cory Quirk with shootout winner].
Battle of the two best defenses in the league.
Herning only 1 point after Rødovre now!

Aalborg - Herlev 2-3 SO [Shots 35-25, Toumas Muhonen SO winner]
Aalborg failed to catch up with Gentofte and Herlev avoided getting totally isolated in last place.

Frederikshavn - Odense 6-2 [Shots 42-17].
Frederikshavn massacred Odense with having 6-0 after 30 min from 6 different scorers.
Odense's offense also has a total off day.

Gentofte - Rungsted 1-3 [Shots 39-31; Antti Kangasniemi 2G, Nikolaj M. Rosenthal 3A for Rungsted].
Gentofte fail yet again to get any points and Aalborg is now only 1 point behind them.
Rungsted managed to win the battle of North Copenhagen yet again.

Round 31-34

17th Jan:
Herlev - Herning 3-4 [Shots 26-27].
Heavy defeat for Herlev that really needed points to stay in contact with Gentofte and Aalborg.
Herning starting to secure the 4th spot?!

19th Jan:
Odense - Herning 4-9 [Shots 25-31, Steffen Frank 2G 1A, Tomas Sinisalo 2G 1A, Kristoffer Lauridsen 1G 2A, Kasper Degn 3A for Herning].
Crazy games where Odense, as it often happens, took many penalties leading to 4 PP goals from Herning in a row - from 1-1 to 5-1. First game this season where Herning's offense really gets rolling.
Odense with another game where the goaltending and defense failed [9 goals on 31 shots !]

SønderjydskE - Aalborg 1-2 [Shots 28-25].
Surprising win by Aalborg that for the first time this season moves into the top 8. What a comeback they have achieved lately.
SønderjydskE shouldn't normally lose this, but seemed to have a offensive offday.

Rødovre - Frederikshavn 5-2 [Shots 24-26, Matthias Asperup 2G 2A for Rødovre].
Rødovre moves back into 5th spot and manages to beat the league leaders.
George Sørensen is struggling a bit in goal lately for Frederikshavn.

Esbjerg - Rungsted 2-5 [Shots 43-24, Ossi Saarinen 2G for Rungsted]
So all three top teams lost their games. Esbjerg hugely outshot Rungsted yet still lost by a wide margin.
Rungsted still with weird tendency to beat teams higher in the ranking and losing to those lower.

Round 33-34-35

22nd Jan:

Frederikshavn - Esbjerg 4-3 OT [Shots 27-29, Jacob Dahlström 1G 2A, Tim Kunes 3A for Frederikshavn & Maria Lamoureux 1G 2A for Esbjerg].
Frederikshavn hold on to their lead league and Esbjerg is in danger of soon being overtaken to Herning for the third spot.

Aalborg - Odense 3-2 [Shots 23-25]
Aalborg with another win making more distance to Gentofte and Herlev.
Odense won 9-2 last time against Aalborg. Something really has changed.

Herning - Rødovre 3-0 [Shots 27-26, Shutout for Simon Nielsen]
Herning streaking at the moment and going close to top 3.
Rødøvre keeping the 5th spot as Odense also lost.

Gentofte - SønderjydskE 0-3 [Shots 29-38, Shutout for Joni Myllykoski]
Gentofte is now 5 points after Aalborg, so a heavy loss.
SønderjydskE only 2 points after Frederikshavn and like Herning at the moment showing excellent goaltending and defense.

Rungsted - Herlev 5-0 [Shots 39-19, Shutout for Mike Clemente]
Rungsted probably hammered the nail in the coffin for Herlev and getting closer to Rødovre and Odense in the table.
Herlev now 12 points behind Aalborg for that last playoff spot, which seems very unlikely at this point when Herlev only has 10 games left, and Aalborg really is on a roll.

Round 34-35-36:
26th Jan:

Esbjerg - Herlev 3-1 [Shots 39-16].
Herlev took an early league, but seemed to be outplayed by Esbjerg.
Esbjerg keeps hold of the third place, with Herning hot in their heels.

Frederikshavn - Herning 1-4 [Shots 25-27, Kristoffer Lauridsen 2G for Herning].
Herning takes down the league leaders and is really in a hot streak at the moment.
Lubos Pisar backs in Hernings goal again after a long hiatus.

SønderjydskE - Rungsted 2-3 [Shots 23-26].
SønderjydskE got in front 2-0, but Rungsted turned it around.
SønderjydskE thus missed the change to take over the league lead.

Rødovre - Aalborg 4-2 [Shots 37-17].
Rødovre dominated this game, where Aalborg took way to many penalties.
Aalborg missed the chance to put more distance to Gentofte.

Gentofte - Odense 2-1 [Shots 39-45 !].
Lots of shots, but very few goals. Odense has started to have scoring problems?
Extremely important win for Gentofte that closes the gap to Aalborg for 8th spot. Now only 2p behind.

Maybe next season we will have more than just George Sørensen as first goalie. Simon Nielsen most obvious if he stays in Denmark, but Feuk and Henriksen seems ready!

Round 35-38:

28th Jan:

Herlev -SønderjydskE 0-3 [Shots 12-20, Shutout for Joni Myllikoski].
Match with very few shots on goal. SønderjydskE cuised to an easy win after going from 0-0 to 2-0 within 20 seconds in the middle of the first period.

29th Jan:
Herning - Esbjerg 1-2 [Shots 24-25]
Esbjerg wins this tight battle for third league spot.

Aalborg - Frederikshavn 3-6 [Shots 25-35, Robin Bergman 2G 1A, Adam Miller 2G 1A, Tim Kunes 1G 4A for Frederikshavn].
Frederikshavn keeps the lead and Aalborg loses valuable points to keep Gentofte behind them.

Rungsted - Odense 2-5 [Shots 34-33].
Odense's offense is an oiled goal scoring machine again!

Gentofte - Rødovre 3-1 [Shots 34-36].
Very important win. Gentofte goes past Aalborg with 1 point.
Seems very hard for Rødovre to recapture any top 4 spot now before the playoffs.

31th Jan:
Esbjerg - Herning 2-0 [Shots 31-31, Shutout Jeff Frazee]
Another tight game and another win for Esbjerg, now 7 points ahead of Herning.

Frederikshavn - Aalborg 3-2 SO [Shots 36-30, Robin Bergman with SO winner].
Frederikshavn now 1 point ahead of SønderjydskE.
Aalborg now with same number of points as Gentofte.

Rødovre - Gentofte 3-1 [Shots 37-23, Matthias Asperup 2G for Rødovre]
Rødovre gets closer to Herning and keeps Odense behind them.
Mathias Asperup has really been on fire lately. He was Rødovre "player of the month" in december and could very well end up being it in january as well.

SønderjydskE - Herlev 6-1 [Shots 33-21, Thomas Spelling 1G 2A]
Herlev is now almost certainly out of the playoff race with 13 points up to both Gentofte and Aalborg.

Odense - Rungsted 6-1 [Shots 32-31, Mike Daugulis 2G, John Armstrong 1G 3A, Dale Mitchell 1G 2A, Rasmus Bjerrum 1G 2A for Odense].
First game this season where Sebastian Feuk in the Rungsted net has really been massacred.
Odense is now definitely over their scoring crisis.

With Odense and Dale Mitchell producing big numbers again; Nicolai Meyer (3P last 3 matches) is now only 2 points ahead of Dale Mitchell in the point producing race and they are equal leaders in goal with 27.

Round 37-38-39

1st Feb:
Aalborg - Rødovre 5-4 SO [Shots 32-35, Olle Liss 2G 1A, Nicolai Meyer 1G 2A for Aalborg].
Two important points for Aalborg.

2nd Feb:
Gentofte - Odense 6-3 [Shots 36-46, Roberts Jekimovs 3G 1A, Cody Kunyk 2G 2A for Gentofte]
Gentofte goes past Aalborg with 1 point with this win.
Roberts Jekimovs made a real hat trick, taking the score from 3-3 to 6-3.

Herlev - Esbjerg 0-3 [Shots 21-26, Shutout for Nikolaj Henriksen, Christian Wejse 2G for Esbjerg]
Esbjerg is securing the 3rd spot in the league.

Herning - Frederikshavn 1-4 [Shots 21-19, Adam Miller 2G 1A for Frederikshavn]
Seems Herning will fight for the fourth spot with Rødovre and Odense, with all three teams losing today!
Frederikshavn keeping the league-lead.

Rungsted - SønderjydskE 4-2 [Shots 20-41, Antti Kangasniemi 3G for Rungsted].
Sebastian Feuk bounces back with a great performance in the Rungsted net and Rungsted does "the usual stunt" of beating the good teams (yet often loses to the weaker ones).
SønderjydskE better avoid Rungsted in the playoffs as they really have problems with them.

Odense, Denmark
I'll let Justinov do the specifics but Odense won 13-0 over Aalborg tonight. SønderjyskE won 9-1 over Gentofte. Mitchell with a 10-point game! Don't doubt Odense and SønderjyskE deserved those wins but I couldn't help think that it's a bit bush league'ish to have those numbers show up.

The night before Herning completely hanged Rødovre out to dry with only a 2-0 win to show for it. The Blue Fox are where they should be in February. They're disciplined, strong and effective. Rødovre on the other hand is struggling. They had a chain of problems against Herning.

1) They'd lose almost any battle at the boards and man-to-man at general. So the defensive part of the game becomes a lot about guarding your own goal and minimizing danger and trying to get a change.

2) When they did win the puck Rødovre's transition game was horrible. No forward movement exiting the zone with speed often left the D-men and center moving the puck around few meters before either losing it again or just fighting hard to cross the blue line with 0,5 miles per hours.

3) They'd lose any battle for the puck by lack of strength. Then Herning would get the puck and see 1)...

Herning was well organized. Made no or few mistakes. Had strength and speed. Daniel Nielsen is the second coming of Jesper Duus. Same look same presence. Herning waited and did their thing until Marco Illemann assisted by Mikkel Højbjerg made high risk decisions in their own zone. The result was two cases of Herning players alone against Ridderwall... and 2-0.

Steffen Frank was flying out there. Physical, speedy, strong and smart in the small decisions. Daniel Nielsen is just beautiful. And Rasmus Nielsen looks a bit like a clone of him. Herning are in great shape up and down the lineup. Rødovre are lacking players that are not small and speedy.

Morten Andreasen is a step or two away from being his usual self. Jere Pulli is strong, smart and a great defensive player. His first steps are a bit slow and Herning made him cough up pucks left and right in the second period.

Round 38-39-40
4th Feb:

Rødovre - Herning 0-2 [Shots 26-31, Simon Nielsen with shutout].
Thanks Bank for your views on this game, which looked fairly even when just looking at the statistics; but in reality Herning was dominated through and through.
It probably sums up Herning's season so far: Excellent defense but trouble scoring.
Rødovre has real problems with the physical aspect of the game, which can be exploited by "muscular" teams to dominate them.

5th Feb:
This was just a weird day with outrageous blow-outs!

Odense - Aalborg 13-0 [Shots 27-27 (!), Dale Mitchell 5G 5A, Sean Wiles 2G, Rasmus Bjerrum 2G, John Armstrong 1G 5A, Ryan McDonough 1G 2A, Joakim Nettelbladt 3A for Odense, Tadeas Galansky with shutout].
Talk about goalie failure - the combined Aalborg duo bare managed to get over 50% saves. They must also have been hung out to dry by the defense to do that poorly?!
But how on earth do you lose 13-0 when shots are equal?
Nicolai Meyer also probably lost the point production race here, as Dale Mitchell got 10P out of this match and now leads it with 7P.

SønderjydskE - Gentofte 9-1 [Shots 52-12 (!), Mads O. Lund 3G 1A, Mark Lee 2G, Anders Førster 1G 2A, Cory Quirk 3A, Tyler Gotto 3A for SønderjydskE].
Blow-out with regards to both shots on goal and scored goals.
Aalborg and Gentofte both had been playing well lately and in a tight fight for the last playoff spot and then both teams comes totally crashing down.

Herlev - Rungsted 1-7 [Shots 13-26, Ossi Saarinen 2G 1A, Antti Kangasniemi 2G For Rungsted].
Another blow-out and it seems like Herlev has given up and their goalie problems from all season also showed in this match letting in 7 on 26 shots.

Esbjerg - Frederikshavn 2-3 [Shots 39-31].
Frederikshavn scoring the GW 9 seconds before time.
Frederikshavn keeps their league lead and Esbjerg is currently safe at the 3rd spot.

WTF! Really embarrassing performance from Aalborg, but when everything is going Odense's way, they are really dangerous.
It is worth mentioning that Odense was leading 10-0 after a half an hour playtime!

The Odense attack is really lethal when its "on" and when both your goalies have totally abysmal off days, then what are you to do??

In the second period Odense won the shots 9-8 - within the first 10 minutes of that period they had scored 6 goals :amazed:
So they must almost have shot 6 goals on 6 shots as the last 3 probably came in the last 10 minutes of that period.
Aalborg even won the 1st period with 12-9 in shots, but was behind 4-0!

So in the two first periods Odense scored 10 goals on 18 shots - for a 44% SVS.
Speculate that around mid-2nd period it could actually be 10 goals on 15 shots.

Then Odense relaxed apparently in the third period "only" getting 3 goals on 9 shots, where Aalborg got 7.

These facts are so staggering that you can really only laugh about it.
It can't possibly go worse next time?? Lets see :D

Aalborg - SønderjydskE 3-6 [Shots 26-33, Mads O. Lund 2G, Thomas Spelling 1G 2A, Cory Quirk 1G 2A for SønderjydskE.
Aalborg missing important points and SønderjydskE keeps hold of second spot.

Very important win for Aalborg getting 3P ahead of Gentofte.

19th Feb:
Rødovre - Esbjerg 0-6 [Shots 18-32, Tyler Gron 2G, Mario Lamoureux 1G 2A for Esbjerg].
Esbjerg is really having a hot-streak at the moment.
Rødovre is still sliding down.

SønderjydskE - Herning 2-0 [Shots 18-15].
Very low-shooting game. SønderjydskE keeps Esbjerg at distance.
Herning's momentum halted.

Odense - Frederikshavn 2-6 [Shots 23-33, Mathias Bau Hansen 3G, Colin Vock 2G, Adam Miller 3A for Frederikshavn.
It took leader Frederikshavn to stop Odense.

Rungsted - Gentofte 5-6 OT [Shots 36-30, Nikolaj M. Rosenthal 2G for Rungsted & Artem Iossafov 2G 1A for Gentofte].
Gentofte winning for North-Copenhagen derby, but is still 1 point behind Aalborg.

Matches 21st Feb Round 42-43:

Gentofte - Esbjerg 1-2 [Shots 24-35]
Did Gentofte lose the playoff spot here?!
Esbjerg still trying to catch up with SønderjydskE, but both teams keep winning at the moment!

Aalborg - Rungsted 6-3 [Shots 22-35, Lars Lundin 2G for Aalborg].
Aalborg now with 4 points down to Gentofte.
Rungsted keeps losing to the "lower ranked" team preventing them from overtaking Rødovre in the standings.

Rødovre - Odense 2-4 [Shots 36-23].
Rødovre can't win anything at the moment even when dominating shot-wise.
Odense likely secured at least 5th spot now.

Herning - Herlev 6-0 [Shots 30-14, Joachim Linnet 3G, Markus Jensen 1G 2A, Kristoffer Lauridsen 3A for Herning].
Herlev is just a punching bag at the moment.

Frederikshavn - SønderjydskE 1-3 [Shots 33-17].
Surprising dominance in shots from Frederikshavn, but Myllikoski must have played a great match in SønderjydskE's goal.
Frederikshavn is now only 1p ahead of SønderjydskE and 4p ahead of Esbjerg.
The top is getting very tight.....

In two days Gentofte meets Aalborg!

Round 43-44.
23rd Feb:

Esbjerg - Odense 0-1 [Shots 40-24, Shutout Tadeas Galansky]
Esbjerg lost the chance of catching up with Frederikshavn and SønderjydskE and is sure to be placed third.
Odense still fighting it out with Herning for the 4th spot.

Rungsted - Herning 3-1 [Shots 25-26]
Rungsted after losing to worse placed teams beats a better placed team, as usual this season.
Herning and Odense now both with equal points.

SønderjyskskE - Rødovre 3-2 OT [Shots 35-23].
Rødovre slides to 7th place being overtaken by Rungsted with 1 point.
SønderjydskE still keeps it possibly to overtake Frederikshavn for first spot.

Herlev - Frederikshavn 2-6 [Shots 18-38, Colin Vock 2G, Niclas Edman 1G 2A, Adam Miller 3A for Frederikshavn].
Frederikshavn leads with 2 points over SønderjydskE.
Herlev is dead last and being really outplayed lately after their playoff chance evaporated.

Then for the most important match of the round - fight for the last playoff spot:
Gentofte - Aalborg 3-4 SO [Shots 21-39, Artem Iossafov 2G 1A for Gentofte & Olle Liss 2A and SO winner]

What a drama. Gentofte was leading 3-1 into the third period. Aalborg comes back to 3-2, but time is running out. Aalborg takes a penalty at 57.43 min and all hope seems lost. Then Gentofte takes a penalty at 58.58 min. Aalborg penalty runs out at 59.43 min and 10 seconds later at 59.53 min they score the equalizer. Then they win it in a shootout.
Aalborg is now 5 points ahead of Gentofte, so Gentofte lost their playoff spot with 7 secs remaining!
