I'm confused then. If he makes anyone a scorer, why aren't the "scrubs" keeping his #s up?

Do you think Crosby could get G Wilson multiple goals a year?

He turned Aberg into a .5ppg pace player off waivers.

Maybe Sprong is bringing him down.

He is firmly in the Bergeron, Backstrom, Kopitar discussion.

I didn't say or imply that.

Hes not overachieving in the slightest. He's simply been put in a position to achieve, and we're seeing that up close and personal tonight.

He's playing with top 6 centers at ES and getting PP2 opportunity like he should have gotten here, and he's scoring at Sheary's pace or better...as predicted. There's nothing "generous" about his new PP time, Anaheim's simply not using him idiotically.

I don't think it is that they are not using him idiotically. I think that it is they don't have depth and a spot for him.

We've been over this. There were plenty of opportunities to use Sprong in those exact same roles here. The Pens were using Sprong on PP2 in the slot and playing lesser and struggling players above him at ES, even when our depth scoring dried up and RWs were out with injury.

But now we're seeing what he can do with the chances the Pens org outright refused to give him here. Not because of a lack of spots, but a surplus of stubbornness.

I hope Sprong puts up 30 goals this year and also that the Pens win the Cup without him so that the arguments about never him ever end. It’s what we deserve.

Last night was the stereotypical Sprong game, score a goal, blow a defensive assignment resulting in a goal against and being on the ice for more goals against than goals for. I actually thought Sprong looked good last night, but you can still see his problems flaring up.

Pettersson though...man, the dude is just so good.

    No, it's really not

The excuses some people make for him just don't make sense to me. Sprong was a PPG player in the AHL last year as a pure rookie and is a high potential offensive winger. You can't just keep excusing his lack of production because the team is struggling, that's just blatant fanboy-ism.

I cant tell if this is sarcasm but no...no.

I thought he actually played well the first period... Did het to see the rest through my eyelids. If he plays with that much "give a ****" ona regular basis he might just be able to out try his issues.

I thought he was one of the more visible duck forwards last night. But as you alluded to that entire team has been struggling mightily. I feel bad for Gibson.

You forgot the part where he looked good the 1st period and then disappeared the rest of the game.

Did a couple posters get forum time outs recently? It was nearly peaceful on the Sprong front.

It is everyone just at the acceptance stage of grief over him?

So the 21 year old who's scoring at a 30 goal pace on his new team only scored 1 goal and finished 2nd on the team with 4 shots behind a player making 8+ mil per wasn't a factor in the final 2 periods when his team was outscored 7-1?

    What a loser.

Hes a "loser" because he an offensive only player on pace for 35 points depsite playing in the second line and getting 75% + offensive starts. Who p/60 5v5 hovers between Tanner Glass and past his prime Craig Adams.

Funny how you dont care about p/60 anymore. Or you disengenously include the PP when you want to use it.

Why are all his linemates absolved when that line gets scored on? Why is he the only one to get the blame? Don't you see that's a bit of an unbalanced argument.

Sprong has exactly the same CF% in Anaheim as Sheary does in Buffalo. Except he scores goals and points at a better pace.

So, as I said many times Daniel Sprong at his best would be Conor Sheary at his worst?
