If I am going to wear my positive hat and wildly speculate:
Daly has already let NHLPA that NHL are willing to let the union 'win' on the contracting rules. Fehr has a pre-negotiation meeting where he says the players have no reason to go back on the concessions they got last time, they go into negotiations and NHLPA wins when it comes to contracting rights and he can tell everyone afterwards how important it was for the players.
Meanwhile NHL get's the 50-50 split it was all about from the start.

Rossi is a freakin' moron. Crosby was at the last negotiations when everything went south, he even talked to the media afterwards.
Depends, those extra toppings are part of the negotiations. And if they ordered from Pizza Hut and got one side of the crust stuffed then it might be a while before they come to an agreement.

Players don't want to get down to 50/50 now.
They'll insist on 43% today.
Next meeting will get down to 54, then gradually dwon to 50.

Yes, but the "delivery and tip" charges are part of the expenses which fall under the NHL side. Gary's mad because it cost him extra 10 bucks and he wants an extra piece of pizza. Both men were last seen tugging at the pizza box with everybody hungry and starving for lunch. Frustration is setting in...
They fight over the change, at which point, the owners then lock the pizza away in a closet.
