If Jordan goes, doesn't that mean Murphy has to go?
How is Murf an emergency call up then if Jordan could play for one of the injured guys? Is it because that would short Charlotte?
Discuss.
They need a center for the 4th line if Jokinen and Dalpe are playing wing.Solid play of Wallace kind of makes Nodl expendable, although I agree with others, why not send Welsh down instead?
Giving Colorado scouts a good look at Dalpe? I sure hope so.
I sure hope not!
At the expense of losing Rask or a first is what I mean.
I'm just a little biased on Dalpe, he is my favorite Cane. And right now I would rather see this defense situation fixed more than our offense anyway. I think once our injured guys come back our offense will be fine without ROR. But its just my opinion
I don't think the rules for an "emergency callup" from juniors are as strict as you guys are making it out to be. It's mostly a courtesy to the CHL, so they won't have players yo-yo-ing up and down like the AHL. If the Canes need Murphy due to injury, they can use him. I don't think you have to demonstrate that you have no other healthy options anywhere in the organization.
CBA question for those who like to read legal documents for fun: Is the 20-year-old age limit in the AHL based on birthday, or the "season" we're in.
For instance, this is Ryan Murphy's age 19 season, but he'll be 20 on 3/31. Can he go to Charlotte on his 20th birthday?
That would be an incorrect assumption, to the best of my knowledge. The rules are strict and highly adhered to. The minute that Gleason or Pitkanen are ready to come off the IR, Murphy goes immediately back down. To my understanding, teams have to prove that they've suffered damage to their six designated top defenders that cannot be replaced without gutting the AHL team. 3 of those 6 are injured for us in McBain, Gleason, and Pitkanen. Without calling up 3 guys from the AHL, we'd be strapped to field a full unit. As soon as ANY one of those guys are ready to play, the extra body we were granted in Murphy by rule has to go back immediately.
I don't get why Nodl can't stick in the NHL. He very rarely has a bad game and there's some grit and skill there.
Don't mind him at all on the roster.
