This is crazy:

OntarioHockeyLeague ‏@OHLHockey

2014-15 #OHL Season is 13 weeks away! 680 games between September 24 and March 22, details: http://*******/1wxmfMY

IIRC, the Q typically starts a bit earlier, and the WHL starts about the same time. European seasons typically start much sooner as well.

I think the Europeans typically start reporting for camp in early August. The junior players probably will start at the end of August.

I can't find the link I was at, but I saw Julius Honka and Aleksi Makela were already invited to Lake Placid this summer with Team Finland for their U-20 preparation camp/scrimmage between Teams from USA, Sweden, and Finland.

EDIT: Here it is.

New Top 20 Prospects

Who wants to take a stab at re-ranking our prospects after the Draft and Spezza trade?

I'm sure we'll do the polls at some point this summer.

Weren't you absolutely adamant about hating Elie and saying it was a terrible pick last year? Now he is ahead of Smith, Stransky, Troock? hehe :p:

It'll be done later. We wait for the dust to settle and the quiet part of the offseason to start.

Anyone else see Julius Honka as the perfect Trevor Daley replacement. Daley is signed for 3 more years.

Nice List. I think Ritchie is our #1, Klingberg is higher, Dickinson a couple spots down.

Would he be more of a Goligoski replacement? Daley is an average sized defensive defender with great wheels and the occasional amazing offensive rush and finish.

Honka is expected to be an offensive force.

I guess on a technicality, Bigs, but when can we find a Daley replacement?

Maybe Alex Peters :)

Personally ... Haydon. Dude sounds amazing. Can't believe we got him there. Peters is good too, and I know the team is obviously higher on him, but many I get pumped reading about Haydon.

I really want to try and catch some Niagara games.

I'm on a short list I know ... but Daley is the last vet I'd move out. I'm to the point that Benn goes ... then Goligoski ... then last Daley.

I've always liked Daley though. I'm not blinded by a good finish to the season with him. Right or wrong I'm still leery of Goligoski. I think what he did last spring was wonderful and amazing. I'm very optimistic about him and willing to keep an open mind so that could totally change between him and Daley.

I just like Daley's demeanor. He's not perfect, but I think he's good for the young guys. They need a guy who's fought and battled to make a career in the league. He's got some great miles on him. Eventually ... I think they'll be perfectly fine without him. I just like the idea of having him as a mentor right now.

Stealing Faidh's list just putting them in proper order ;)

1. Brett Ritchie (2011: 44)
2. John Klingberg (2010: 131)
3. Jack Campbell (2010: 11)
4. Jason Dickinson (2013: 29)

15. Jyrki Jokipakka (2011: 195)
16. Matej Stransky (2011: 165)
17. Branden Troock (2012: 134)
18. Scott Glennie (2009: 8)
19. Remi Elie (2013: 40)
20. Brett Pollock (2014: 45)

I seriously considered Ully at 8. I'm still extremely bullish on the reinvented Glennie and there's a real case to be made that he should be higher on this list. Dickinson/Shore is 1A/1B for me so who's ahead of whom doesn't really matter. I am insanely high on Klingberg and think he wows at camp to the point to where Nill will talk himself into keeping him with Dallas from the get go.

A year from now both Bystrom and Sinitsyn could be in our top 5 and if Troock stays healthy he's the McKenzie revelation in the AHL this Fall.

Ok so....stick with me here......Daley's replacement? A Two way defender with good skating and speed, good stick work, flashes of offense and can occasionally start the breakout?

Jaime Oleksiak.

Maybe not in the leadership position though.

Not bad. Let's put it this way. I hope there isn't a Daley replacement. I hope it goes the way you and I are seeing it. Either more defensive or more two-way ... it's going to be a big MFer.

I only want small guys if they are scorers from the back end.

Holy crap I can't stop laughing. I was trying to find info on the CHL Import Draft ... date, time, etc.

I saw Elite Prospects had coverage, and it was weird they already had Sarnia picking a player.

I was excited by the Australian Flag ... but mostly the name .... Mustapha Lemieux.

Apparently is a test page ... place holder of some sort.

Mr. Mustapha is a 5'4", 273 lbs., right shot, LW from Australian and Lebanese decent. His junior team is the Testville Pink Panthers. He wasn't a big scorer, but he averaged 300 to 500 penalty minutes per season in only about 50 games.

And this is his photo ....

He's 19 years young ....

Oh my GAWD ... they have a fake interview with him:

Q & A with Mustapha (May, 2013)

What is your favourite TV show?
Days of Our Lives and Jerry Springer

Kebab or Pizza?
Kebab on Pizza, please!

Favourite artist?
I like German disco. Bands like Haddaway, Modern Talking, Captain Jack and Culture Beat!

Last movie you saw?
Homemade movie with one of my wives, I say no more

Are you happy with your 12/13 campaign with the Testville Pink Panthers?
I wanted to score more, but the new team policy did not allow us to bring fans to the locker rooms after the games

Your thoughts about the 2013 NHL Entry Draft?
Well, everyone is saying and I am the consensus No. 1 pick this year again, hopefully they are correct

I still do. I can be skeptical of him being anything more than a fourth liner and still have him there. I had the same opinion of Chiasson but that didn't mean I didn't have him as one of our top prospects.

I like Haydon a lot as well. I had him ranked 31st on my draft wish list. I was extremely impressed we managed to get him in the 6th round. He is the early favorite for steal of the draft for us. Peters was at 34th for me. You can never have to much speed and size on the backend. It's very hard to find the big blue-liners with mobility like he possesses. In terms of Daley though, I was just thinking Peters was a good replacement for Daley in terms of style...or rather speed.
