With how bad his numbers are across AHL . ECHl and DEL2 this has to be just as an body for training camp practices to shoot pucks at. Nothing else makes sense. Probably has some connection to Stars front office or coaching staff is how he got the gig because you don't randomly go out and find and sign a guy with numbers this poor .

If ever there was 1 last chance.

He's the #6 goalie for training camp . There is no world where Halverson gets a real contract from the Stars. Not from the Texas Stars either because they already have 3 goalies

If the Stars truely were looking for more than a training camp practice goalie they'd have handed the PTO to someone better who may actually have a chance to beat out the prospects for an AHL spot .

Seems like someone who knows Halverson and or his family who is working for the Stars is doing him a favor is how he ended up with the PTO . His numbers don't suggest he's even really a capeable ECHL goalie.

Once Chris Gibson signed his PTO the Halverson one became completely redundant

Not really, they still wanted 6+ goalies so two for each training camp group. Dallas only has 4 under contract.

They still have 6 with Thomson and Gibson . 6 makes sense. 2 goalies for a each practise squad .

When the Rangers drafted him, there were definitely known flaws to his game, but his puck handling was off the charts, so they were hoping Allaire could iron everything else out.

He’s signed with Orlando this year.
