If you were to choose between these three 'project' prospects which one would it be and why? All three of these guys were taken relatively high in recent drafts:

Dylan Strome: 3rd overall, 2015 NHL entry draft
    NHL stats: 39GP, 6g, 7a, 13p

Jesse Puljujarvi: 4th overall, 2016 NHL entry draft
    NHL stats: 102GP, 14g, 15a, 29p

Pavel Zacha: 6th overall, 2015 NHL entry draft
    NHL stats: 150GP, 16g, 35a, 51p

I used the word 'project' for a reason, as I think it's too early to call any of them a bust. Never the less, they all still have a lot to prove. So, if you had to pick one of the three, which one would you bank on putting it together and having the best career of the three? Or the one that you think would fit and thrive in your team. Use whatever criteria you want, but try to base it on your expected on-ice results.

If i have to choose between 3 potential busts ( Strome,Pulju, Zacha) i take Zacha.
And only because he has scored more points than Puljujärvi and Strome.

Puljujarvi is still only 20 and will be for the entire season. I'll go with him because I think he's about the same as the other two but a full year younger.

Strome has at least dominated the AHL and will probably be a regular NHLer this year so him. His underlying numbers/impact are better as well.

Zacha is already good defensively and a great PKer so, at worst, he is a 4th liner. The other two could end up out all together

    So.
Here's the thing this forum needs to kind of start processing a lot better.

There's a difference between a prospect not 'clicking' and a prospect looking lost. Of the three players Zacha and Puljujarvi are the players struggling to even be NHL regulars. Strome is a rookie, coming off dominating the OHL and AHL; I have faith that he could be a legit NHLer (also has an unsustainable 2.5% oiSH%).

Even though Puljujarvi is younger than the other two, there hasn't been much signs that he's simply going to come into next season and be a monster. Right now he's at a mid-tier AHL level, still a lot of tiers to get to even be considered a productive NHLer.

Zacha I think is just limited. I think Jersey took a gamble (As other teams were bound to do as well) and it won't pay off. I think he could carve out a decent middle 6 role though.

    If I'm ranking:

    Strome
    Zacha
    Puljujarvi

Other than those times where he looks dominant out there...

It’s a toss up between Pulju and Strome. I give the edge to Pulju because of age, but bother have merit

    I went with Zacha.

All 3 were expected to be offensive producers. None look like they will be. But I think Zacha will be able to contribute as a defensive forward in the bottom 6. Which chippping in a few points here and there.
