The thing is the Habs have no real dman with #1D upside, and with Weber and Petry getting older and older, some are setting unrealistic expectations on some prospects, hoping they can take the spots of Weber and Petry. I'm sure one of the many d prospects the habs have will emerge as a #1d, or at least a #2d and Norlinder is definitely in that boat. But I think he'll realistically cap out as a #3 or #4 do it all dman, which is really good for an overager 3rd round pick.
i think they have one of the deepest prospect D pools in the NHL - especially at LD - and one of norlinder, romanov, harris etc...could pan out as a 1A/B. Regardless, they have a group of interesting Dmen, with lots of potential coming up

I would rank them as follow:

Romanov
Norlinder
Guhle
Brook
Struble (has been slowed down by injuries but the potential is still there, will have time to develop)
Juulsen
Fleury
Harris

Really like Norlinder. Would set my expectations/hope for him to pan out as a 2nd pairing D in the NHL though, I think top pairing is a little lofty.

he has the upside to be a #1, but will probably set up as a PP specialist on the #2 line

ehh i dont think any habs prospect have no. 1 potential

lots of potential top-4 one though
For sure, but a lot of posters are overhyping prospects in the Habs mainboard. For Norlinder though, as another poster said, is mostly overhyped by the media from his country lol

Having Harris at 8 says a lot about the depth. I'm higher on him though, top 5, maybe 4th in my mind. Norlinder and Romanov are the top 2, no contest IMO.

If Harris bulk up and develop a shot, he could climb in the depth chart since the kid has a very high IQ, I like him but he is a bit undersized for a defenseman and doesnt have Norlinder's offensive tools...

You want to take everything on this prospect board with a grain of salt.

They once had McCarron as future first line player who could knock the snot out of Lucic. If you have any issues with what I say go check back in his thread on Habs board.

thats a load of crap,

anyone with hockey knowledge knew his upside and that was a 3 liner at best

This is a guy I don't fully understand the hype on. Who's a good comp for him?

1st liner? Every teams will have a tendency to overrate their prospects but I've never seen anyone saying McCarron was a future 1st liner. Even Poehling was considered as a 2nd/3rd line center after winning the WJC MVP and scoring 3 goals in his first NHL game. Where the hell did you get that info?

By the sounds of what he said, Réjean Tremblay or guys on TVA Sports.

A lot to like in that clip. Really aware defensively even after the pinch. Showing some physicality too.

he's shown some increased physical play to go with the improved defensive play. He added some mass and strength in the off-season and it's shown this year as i haven't seen every game but i've seen many of them and rarely did i notice where a lack of strength or size impacted him or that he shied away from physical contact.

in reality Harris is in the tier behind Romanov with Norlinder/Guhle

Although it's hard to put Brook, Struble and Juulsen ahead of him. I know some are not that hyped abut Fleury but I really liked him though. In my mind it goes like this:

Romanov
Norlinder
Guhle
Fleury
Harris
Juulsen
Struble
Brook

our prospect pool is criminally underrated and has been for years. But sure, lol

kinvall-D-23 yo- 15 points in 14 games in the SHL. Never heard of him? Cause we don’t hype meh prospects.

You guys just signed kinvall as a free agent And the guy is turning 24 and won't be joining your team cuz he's not even good enough for the nhl. Hype up shit players for what? You're comparing a 20 year old to a soon to be 24 year old.

can any of our Swedish posters update us if he was injured in today's game? I'm assuming he was as he played the first few minutes of the game and never saw the ice again but I was away from my computer so I don't know what happened and don't speak Swedish.
