Since Solovyov thread is started I'm replying to
this post here.
He had been a top-2 D of Belarus U18 NTDP team (2000 born crop) back in 2017/2018 along with now CHL Flint's Vlad Kolyachonok who had been playing there as an underager. Unlike the past practice in Belarus hockey when a D's function seemed to be just to clear his zone (I admit a lack of skilled players was the reason), then-NTDP head coach brought some modern tactics with Ds using stretch passes and brining puck to the attacking zone and generally playing more agressive offence-wise. Consequently he's got a pair of D's, Solovyov and Kolyachonok, who were considered conductors of his new tactics to the team.
For some reason while Koly shown himseld at U18 Worlds in 2018, Solovyov did not. I have no idea why, probably some psychology issues. Solovyov was expected to be import-drafted in 2018 but had to continue in Belarus instead with U20 NTDP team where he was used as a typical stay-at-home D playing the whole season against top Belarusian league clubs.
After all he made the National team in 2019 to play at IIHF WM Division 1 and looked pretty solid.
Therefore no surprises he plays offensively, that's what he's got used to, but it's still a junior league he plays in now though.
Here is an old highligh video on him from the season 2017/2018 I already posted earlier:
