Christian Kyrou at eliteprospects.com

One of the oldest 1st time eligible players in the 2022 draft, missed the 2021 cutoff date by 2 days.

He is the younger brother of St.Louis Blues forward Jordan Kyrou and has had an impressive start to the season for a mediocre Erie team. (4+12 for 16pts in 23 games)

Could be a name to watch to be picked in the mid to late rounds.

OHL Rights: Erie Otters
OHL Draft: Erie Otters (R5, 2019, 84th Overall)

NHL Rights: Dallas Stars
NHL Draft: Dallas Stars (R2, 2022, 50th Overall)

Looks like he missed it by a day, actually. That’s gotta suck.

Wouldnt it be the opposite? There was no season last year. Unlikely he would’ve been drafted. Now he’s eligible to be selected as a first year draft eligible. Re-draft players have a harder time getting selected.

Shoulda got one game in

Maybe he woulda went undrafted. Obviously we’ll never know. The point is missing a draft by a day has to suck, in general.

He had a bad first season in the OHL. But being the brother of Jordan, it definitely would have put his name on the radar of teams. Nepotism is very real in sports.

If he wins the Otters scoring title, he will be the first d man to do so, in Otters history.

He would be the 2nd ever d man in their franchise history (circa 1946 -2022);
Bryan Fogarty, 19, Niagara Falls Thunder, OHL, 88-89 season, 47+108=155, +88
- another 34 points in 17 play-offs games

What-a-shot-what-a-goal-what-a-player
- went 9 games without a goal, nice way to break a slump

ontariohockeyleague.com/gamecentre/25337/boxscore

(1:57)

5 goals shy of 20 goals and 5 points shy of 50 points.

2nd in OHL defensemen goals and 3rd in points
- in his draft season

Funny I wonder if you have actually seen him play with that comment?

He definitely ahs been a riser this season but there are better projectable Dmen who won't even go in the second round.

Your take seems to be based entirely on stat watching.
Leafer is the king of stat watching

I guess watching highlights are meaningless...
and with 30+ years of experience in
watching hockey from tv, and live, is meaningless
and does not factor how i understand
hockey, and to evaluate players.

Sure, sometimes i have misses, but
look at here at prospects boards, how
many hits i have to misses and
complaint again Musto.

fyi. i have defended you many times
when most of Hawks fans
have made fun of you.

He’s a good prospect George but IMO he’s not better than any of Chelsey, Mateychuk, Korchinski, Luneau, Casey, Nelson, Mintyukov, Salomonsson, Odelius or Forsmark who are all poised to go in the area you think Kyrou should go but are safer bets in my opinion.
I like the player but I don’t think i’d spend more than a 3rd rounder on him. He may not even be the best draft eligible defender on his team - Spencer Sova is very good in his own right also.
