So Tomas Filippi, Martin Frk, Jiri Sekac, Adam Sedlak, Adam Polasek and Petr Mrazek are likely out of the team, do you think that any of these players would have improved the team?

Mrazek and Polasek would, but they are out because of some legal issues with their youth team, so they are more unlikely to be on the team than the others. Filippi, Frk and Sekac wouldn´t be any significant improvement IMO (Filippi seems to be cold lately, Frk is useless on bottom 6 and wouldn´t make it to top 6, don´t know much about Sekac). Sedlak could be improvement but I really don´t know if they will break this rule they appointed before. I don´t think so.

reminder

David Moravec, one of my favourite players and another member of Nagano team retired recently. Besides olympic gold, he won with national team 1 WC bronze and 2 gold medals. He also scored legendary OT winner in 2001 gold medal game to win for us 3rd WC gold in a row. Great memories connected with this guy!

U20 Wjc

U20 again - today head coach released preliminary list of players he´s considering to take to pre-tournament camp to USA. There are some new faces there including Mrázek and Polášek. He declared they will try to solve problem with their youth club HC Vítkovice somehow and hopefully they will be available for WJC. That´s good thing. Bad thing is Jaškin got injured in yesterday game (knee) and is very likely to be out for some longer period of time. From this group they will choose 28 guys, who will be at the camp since 15th December and then 23 guys for the final WJC roster.

Goaltenders:
Marek Mazanec (HC Plzeň 1929)
Petr Mrázek (Ottawa 67's, OHL)

Dalibor Řezníček (HC PSG Zlín)
Adam Sedlák (Ottawa 67's, OHL)
Petr Šenkeřík (HC Kometa Brno)

Jaškin will be injured until January, which means he won´t be at WJC - Frk was added on the preliminary roster instead of him.

Shame about Jaskin. He's a big loss, and I don't reckon Frk can fully replace him, but let's hope so :(

You feel Jaskin is a better player than Frk?

Of course it´s quite impossible to predict who will be better player in the future. But I agree with Swipes that right now, Jaskin´s definitely better (but he´s also more than 6 moths older).

Yes, I think so. He has made the A-team of Slavia Prague and has 3g + 5a in 23 games (which is good for a guy who's playing two levels above his age group) Not only that, but he shone in the recent U-20 four nations tournament against Russia by scoring a hat-trick. But it'd be an easier comparison if Frk and Jaskin were playing in the Extraliga.

I´m really looking forward to this tournament... will be interesting to see how they can make things done against international teams without Jaškin this time. I think it will tell a lot about their chances at U18-WJC

As you sad, it will show how it really is with them. They will have to play as a team again, and not to hope that somebody will do the job for them. But by the results from last few games at US, Jaskin wasnt there eather (was with u20), and they played good at there.

And for the different from that time, Jenik, Hertl and Sedlak is coming up! And these three can be deference for CZ. They will be so much help for the Czech team

Yeah. And I agree with the coach when he says we need to win tournament like this if we want to be relevant force on April... I´m not trying to underestimate opponents at this tourney, but that´s just reality.

Červenka and Å koula won´t be at EHT this time because of that Vityaz/Avangard scrimmage. They were replaced with Adamský and Nakládal... I´m not usually criticising nominations, but after this roster made by Hadamczik I think he must be insane :shakehead Hopefully he´ll prove me wrong.

I totally agree! Honestly, I mean no offence to these players; but Adamsky? I never heard of him until today! And again, compare his stats to Kana (14 points in 31 games vs 20 points in 30 games. Admittedly Kana is now injured, but he wasn't even in the reserves...) What about Pohl?Lukes?Gulas? Petruzalek?:shakehead:cry:

hmmm, we'll see, but even so I think we'll have no national team for a couple of years.....:(

Nakladal is one of the best D in Extraleague and still young and promising. He deserves to be there IMO.
Adamsky? Hmm... Interesting to say the least. However Pohl? Very soft. Lukes did little when he played in national team in previous years. Gulas? Not enough hockey sense IMO.
I personally would like to see Petr Vrana on the roster.

Nakládal has some potential, that´s for sure. But I still don´t understand many things in Hadamczik´s philosophy (if he has some). Of course it would be completely irrelevant if he had success, which didn´t happen last time. If this upcoming tournament will look similar to that previous one, then we have a problem.
