If it isn't one thing, it's another. My skates were too big (size 9.5 ee), so I bought the same style (Bauer 7000s) in a size smaller - 8.5 ee. They feel a little different (shorter blade), but generally better. I got them second-hand at a good price, which eases the pain of dishing out for two pairs of skates.
Problem is, the guy who sharpened the new skates said that there is a slight curvature in the right blade.
Looking at it, I can see it. It's slight, but it can definitely be seen. It's on my right skate and that's my weak side.
I haven't skated on these blades yet. I'll try them out next weekend.
In the meantime, can anyone tell me if such curvature (as small as it is) will cause me problems? The sharpener guy said it won't be like skating on a banana curve, but will it affect my performance?
Do I need a new blade fitted? Is that the best option, or is it overkill?
