Pedro Martinez "dislikes" this.

Pedro was great but his thin frame caused him to have a shorter career and not take the wear and tear guys like Schilling and Clemens could. The best pitchers derive power not from their arms, but their legs.

Different argument.

According to your first post, pedro coudn't pitch. Period.

Pedro pitched for 18 seasons.

That's a pretty long career.

This is honestly a great idea. Dodger Stadium is on top of a hill overlooking downtown LA, and though it has probably the biggest parking lot in the majors, public transport doesn't serve it well at all and traffic is a nightmare. Putting a gondola near a train station downtown would be convenient for Dodger fans in the city, reduce the apocalyptic 5:30 PM LA traffic going up Chavez Ravine, and is environmentally friendly.

This idea is downright perfect.

I tried taking the LA Metro Dodger Clipper bus from Union Station a few years ago - it was a horror show.

Kansas City, Arlington, Texas and St. Petersburg have NO public transportation to games.

Rockies Top Prospects

If there’s a closer at the University of Connecticut worth drafting, it’s getting close to automatic that he’ll end up with the Rockies. They got Scott Oberg out of UConn back in 2012 and selected PJ Poulin in 2018, but both were taken after the 10th round. Coming off an absolutely dominant junior season as the Huskies’ closer in 2019, Wallace went in the third round of the Draft, then was no match for Northwest League hitters during his pro debut.

Wallace goes after hitters aggressively with a power two-pitch mix. His fastball sits 96-97 mph and he couples it with an absolutely nasty slider that’s a true out pitch. He creates good deception with the pitch, throwing his slider off the same plane as his fastballs with both sweep and depth to it, leading hitters to wave at it.

There is effort in Wallace’s delivery, but that also adds to the deception and his arm works with good ease, so there isn’t real concern about it being too violent. He didn’t seem tired at the end of a long college season despite a fair amount of work during his pro debut, a good sign for the future. He has the right mentality for the back end of a bullpen, something that could keep happening assuming he continues to find the strike zone consistently enough.

Hell baby
That’s the EXACT thing I wanted to happen when we signed Pillar. Sign him for cheap late in FA, flip him for legitimate value. Seems like a solid relief prospect, can’t argue with his results at all

He pillaged the cape league. 13 2/3 scoreless, 25 strikeouts lol

Verdugo with a hammy issue tonight, Lin replaces him in RF

hopefully not to serious, if it’s any sort of strain (as opposed to a cramp) his season should be done
