It's hard to judge the relative strength of the conferences this season because there have been so few cross conference games. I decided to dig them all up to see if there was anything useful in there. So far there have been 15 games (I don't think I missed any). The results are below and each team's cross conference record is listed. So far the West is owning the East in these matches, but it's a very small sample size.

It's also important to point out in those limited crossover games of where they were played 7 out of those 15 games were played in Western conference buildings where they got last change.

In a typical season line changes would be a small sliver in the outcomes of games. This season they're a much bigger factor especially when all the games are wrapped up. Even looking at just the western conference standings. This is simply because the whole league isn't doing crossover games like they usually do in a normal year.

Seeds 1-5 have a 7 point difference between top spot and 5th. While 6-10 have a 6 point difference between those teams.

If you were to look back at a normal year where teams would have more crossover games then we would see a far bigger difference in standings and in east vs. west records as well, as there would be more 3 in 3 crossover swings. As far as my knowledge goes the only teams involved in crossover games this season are the ones who are geographical closer to each other e.g. Barrie and Owen Sound, Niagara and Erie, Soo and North Bay and Sudbury I believe are the only ones this season anyway who are doing crossover games due to Covid-19 and travel abilities. That's leaves 14 teams in each conference that aren't doing crossover games due to distance and travel. As I agree it's very hard to judge the strength of the conferences this season its completely relevant to how the schedule and the whole idea of limiting teams travel between points on the map.

So that leaves 15 - 7 = 8 games in the Eastern conference building. I don't think it can more even than that.

If the teams on the right are the home teams, then it would appear the only games the Soo and Owen sound lost were at home. Not sure where you were going with this line change thing

Added the two cross conference games last night. Too bad Barrie only gets credit for one win for that performance.
